E-cigs are helpful. Cigarette smoking has gone down significantly. Kids not more likely to start smoking cigs because of e-cigs.
Deeming regs are ridiculous and suck.
Food & Drug Law Attorney talking now. Just mentioned that it was in the deeming regs that all flavored e-cig fluid would have to be removed by August 8th, until they got approval from FDA. She said White House struck that, or so they have been told. Still talking about what the FDA could and should have done with e-cigs, but did not....
Lawsuits...
Deeming rules even include e-liquids not including nicotine, if it's expected to be used with e-cigs. FDA will regulate this too.
Strong support in Congress for a change to this. Cole Amendment passed 31-19?
Noticed on CASAA website:
Petition Your Legislator NOW to Support HR 2058!
The FDA Deeming Authority Clarification Act of 2015 (HR 2058), introduced by Representative Tom Cole of Oklahoma, would save the U.S. vapor industry from being decimated by improper regulations by the FDA. This bill would amend the Food, Drug, and Cosmetics Act to change the predicate date for “deemed tobacco products.” This change would allow for all vapor products currently on the market to remain on the market without being subject to the burdensome (read: prohibitive) pre-market FDA approval application process.
Currently, there are two pieces of legislation in Congress that would effectively change the predicate date for products deemed to be tobacco by the FDA.
Both HR 2058 and the Cole-Bishop amendment are vehicles for language that would change the predicate date in the Tobacco Control Act (TCA) from February 15th, 2007 to the effective date of the deeming regulations (August 8th, 2016). This change would allow for all vapor products

Congress... moderate support for the date to be changed. Which means everyone should contact their Congress critters. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
S450 S1129 introduced. Dem introduced. High federal taxes on e-cigs. Not much support, but now that deeming regs are here, might start getting recognition.
CASAA are the guys fighting the government and will give you action items.
-----------
Now talking about how the deeming regs will effectively shut down all future development in e-cigs because of the stringent requirements before even introducing. Crazy stuff.
Will squelch innovation and making product better, safer.
