URGENT * DEADLINE 7/28 MIDNIGHT* Grassroots Talent Needed for FULL PAGE Iowa ad

Here's my submission. I don't know if I'm too late or not:
I am just in love with this picture. My ex also thought this picture of Paul would speak the most to readers. It's just such an honest phote, looking right at you.

In regard to the text, I would stay away from "I" statements, since this will not be endorsed by Paul himself. I also wouldn't retouch the picture at all.

All of them are going to have to have 'Paid for by R3VOLution PAC, not affiliated with any candidate or candidate's committee' on them somewhere.

i like awakes the most. like others said its iowa specific and i think thats a great picture of ron, one of the best. we wont get a pic of ron without looking old. he IS old haha we ought to embrace his age and just redirect any age concerns by citing wisdom as a virtue a president needs but few have had. hes looking you straight on and comes off focused and optimistic, good qualities to portray as a presidential candidate

Superb work, Mello!

Here's mine:

RonPaulAd.jpg

This is a really clean ad. It's "simple" (meaning, it keeps the reader focused on the ad's message without needless distractions on the eye).

It's "readable" (meaning, it's brevity urges the reader to continue on).

It's "credible" (meaning, it informs on the man and his platform through his consistent voting record).

It's "persuasive" (meaning, it speaks to the current needs/desires of the voter while proving Ron Paul understands, agrees, and already works toward their goals).

There are a few wording changes I'd make to the ad's copy, but for now let me say:

Superb work, Mello!

Also, thanks for re-touching the photo; it looks worlds better than it did.

i don't think its the best fit for Iowa. There needs to be some snippet of his statement of faith and also touch on Ron being the only candidate who can beat Obama

That might be true. I'm unfamiliar with the Iowa newspaper reader as a target audience. I suppose I was just speaking to the ad in general, to the great work done, and to what others could learn from this ad, which could then be incorporated into an Iowa-specific ad.

Mello, that image was called out as being under copyright earlier by Time (I think?)... it's a good one though. :|

Also, though it's hard to see... you may be the first submission to put forward anywhere close to print size. :)

It might be a good idea to get someone in Dr. Paul's organization to hire a photographer to take some well-shot high-res photos of Ron Paul. Then place those photos somewhere on the RonPaul2012 website. Those pics should be made accessible to the grassroots members with graphic design experience. This way we will not have to worry about violating copyright & we will have print-resolution images to work with.

Agreed.

I think these are all great ads in general, but they need to emphasize the Straw Poll and getting out to VOTE. Bolstering Paul is great, but I thought this ad was supposed to highlight the poll and get people out of their seats.

My new favorite is Esoteric's for their emphasis.

Thoughts? My first stab.

I do like this one a lot. It's a feel good picture and has some good words too. It made me smile as soon as I saw it. - Of course, I'm head over heels completely and totally crazy nutty about the guy! :)

I like the colorful one from Romulus, but there still is a typo on the endorsements

Chairman, not chariman.

I would strongly like to encourage everyone to include the iowaforronpaul.com website to assist ad viewers wishing to buy tickets, as well as the ronpaul2012.com site to learn about the issues.

Esoteric's use of the "Stand up to the Washington Machine" line from Ron Paul's ad is a great idea, further ingraining in Iowans the repeated message of the campaign.

Super great idea.

Esoteric, a couple of things. I would lose the red stars. They scream Communism to a lot of older Americans. In the verbiage, I would change, "take our country back" to take our government back. I would also consider saying instead of standing up for Ron Paul or against the Washington machine, to take our government back, or take a stand for America, or something like that.

Just my 2 cents.

Could someone who can do this - please go to the submission thread - and remove the duplicate picutures although making sure to leave the original artist.

Also, there are a few comment threads that ought to be removed.

Thanks
