Ok folks here we go!

We have funding from Revolution PAC to run an Ad again in the Ames Tribune for Ron Paul 2011.

The deadline is Friday the 29th for the Ad to be submitted. So now is the time to get this show on the road.

The mosaic Ad from 2007 was SO beautiful. I sure hope that from ALL the talent here at the Forums we can come up with another beauty to help support OUR guy.

This time around the RPAC would like to go with a NEW ad. They have paid for a Full Page Color Ad.

Remember - Time's a wasting!

BUMP, great to see Revolution PAC getting involved so quickly! Good luck and hopefully someone here has skills that can help you out.

Cool - so a full page? Any expectations as far as what the ad should be? Mostly art? An issue or two? Ron Paul's credentials?

I think they are looking for ideas and artwork. What do YOU think? But my understanding is they are looking at a full page ad again.

But they have to have it before July 29 as I understand it from another thread, and if there are several to choose from all the better. There are other people working up ideas too, but it is about getting out the best ad.

Yes the deadline is this coming FRIDAY - the 29th! So we gotta move on this now!

And primarily it's the ARTWORK but TEXT too. We have FULL page to do it.

So with a FULL page to work with we could really make a good one like 2007.

This is our time. This is Ron's time. Let's show him how much we support him with a real beauty of an Ad. One that he will be proud of...

I know there is LOTS of talent here.

Not so great in the art department, but I think targeting the conservative Christian folks straight up should be the focus.

These Bible verses come to mind:
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Deuteronomy 25:15,16 - You must have accurate and honest weights and measures, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you. For the LORD your God detests anyone who does these things, anyone who deals dishonestly.

As a start.

Tie this in with some 'character counts' points including Ron's long historical voting record, his integrity in office, his marriage, his two brothers being pastors, etc.

bump for designers and ideas!

Maybe clarify the social security position?

Discuss his consistency in fighting for 'you' against the Washington machine?

Please provide the specs for the ad space (what size if the page... bleed, no bleed, etc.)

I'm trying to find this on the web but Sunny said she'd be back to look at comments etc. meanwhile from last time around thread:

To get a copy 1-800-234-8742/Order Desk Ames Trib.
To get a copy, call the number and order it, as it is only two bucks a copy.
(I talked to the guy up there on the order desk, and he promised to vote for RP in the straw poll. Very nice folks.)

Send an email to [email protected] with your name, address, and
phone number. They will contact you later in the day to get your credit
card information for payment. OR, you can call this number and pay right
now:

And I personally like using the Social Security issue. I brought in a senior with that very thing recently, in an off chance encounter that he brought it up seeing my Ron Paul button... It is on everyone's mind and Paul has most common sense solution. It also gives us a subtle way to introduce people to the foreign policy issue...

I like referring to his Statement of Faith, as well.

I just spoke to the folks at the paper... the straw poll section is a full color tab.
The size of the full page ad is 10"x9.75" CMYK
no bleed and has a border

A 'normal' full page is 10" x 21"... I assume this will be placed in the tab section. This tab section will also be distributed at the Straw Poll

Can you rough something in using the specs from the previous ad? Sunny has those files/sizes

Michael, actually I do not. I just got the message and fired it off an e to Gary.

I will also post on the RPAC site.

Michael, if you have a way of reaching him quickly - could you pass this question on to him?

Thanks

The social security plan wouldn't be just that, but 'social security' and 'medicare' and 'opt out' and 'food stamps' could be bolded....where they appear,

It could be 'Ron Paul's Debt Reduction Plan' and then just put in a direct quote or strict paraphrase from the PBS interview (only correcting conversational language into proper sentences) and citing the interview itself -- this is an area where we don't want to put a SINGLE substantive word into his mouth, since we don't want clarifications spun as 'flip flopping'.

And I'd put a 'Ron Paul is the Conservative who can beat Obama' blurb with short quotes / cites to polls showing how well Ron runs against Obama, this also plays into Pawlenty's nonsense about picking a candidate who can win, and is something Bachmann doesn't show up as well in, clearly.

Also, a different mosaic picture could work if it is bright colors, I saw one in dark that wasn't so great. But the design folks are much better at that sort of thing than I am.

Thanks for that! :) Is there anything else you need to know?

This is the info I received about the ad. The numbers are different.

KK O'Neill is the contact person for the ad at the Ames Tribune.
Our tab section will publish August 9 and the deadline to reserve space is July 29.
All ad prices include full color.
Full page is (10" x 7.5")

I just called her and left a voice mail so I could get the correct info.
She is the one handling this account.

Sorry about this confusion. I will post as soon as I get a response.
