URGENT * DEADLINE 7/28 MIDNIGHT* Grassroots Talent Needed for FULL PAGE Iowa ad

I know that I am even more confused... the paper told me one thing and there are other sizes listed in this thread

Help??

fyi... I spoke with Kitty

We think your info is the best info, but isn't fully confirmed. I sure HOPE it is in what is being handed out at the straw poll! If it isn't, it should be!

In Tom Woods' video about RevolutionPAC, he specifically stated he wanted to highlight the record and characteristics of Ron Paul that the Bachmann's, Romney's, and Perry's couldn't say about themselves. This plays to the theme "why can you trust Ron Paul above these other candidates?"

We've all heard people say Ron Paul is different. Well, he is.

There's a reason lobbyists pass by his door without knocking on it when they're looking to fund their pet projects in Congress.

There's a reason he was predicting the financial crisis when every other politician and economic pundit was laughing at him.

Steadfastly, and usually alone, he has consistently voted down spending and tax increases throughout his entire political career.

In his statement of faith,...

etc.

If we go that way it should have TSA Patriot Act, civil liberties, too.

We should start numbering the ideas as we brainstorm.

Ad Concept Points:

- Separate Ron Paul from the other candidates
- Highlight his voting record of principled integrity
- Give a brief overview of his history, personal and professional

The messages above should be paramount over any 'pretty' picture that just looks nice.

The purpose of the ad is to communicate a clear message, the graphics should support that, not dominate or distract.

Edit: I would refrain from using any faith based ads, he has said that he does not want his faith to be used for political purposes.

But I really do think his social security / opt out / debt plan is a huge win to voters who will attend, if they knew it. I think it should be there.

I'd also add something about polling head to head w/ Obama, in maybe the kind of 'critics reviews' blurbs you see on movie ads

Perhaps it was Katie? She is also in advertising. I'm awaiting info back from a couple of people now who ought to have the answers.

It should be what I posted up above tho:
"Our tab section will publish August 9 and the deadline to reserve space is July 29.
All ad prices include full color.
Full page is (10" x 7.5")"

I am so sorry about this delay. I hope this is not totally holding you up Tarzan.

I appreciate that you have stepped up.

Thanks.

Really if one is using a vector based program I don't think it matters that much.

It does matter. The final file sent to the paper should be at 100% in a press ready pdf file format. Exact specs are important along with any bleed or live area designations.

I'm all for the grassroots doing these things, but this is why I think freelancers need to be hired for these types of jobs.

Not so great in the art department, but I think targeting the conservative Christian folks straight up should be the focus.

These Bible verses come to mind:
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Deuteronomy 25:15,16 - You must have accurate and honest weights and measures, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you. For the LORD your God detests anyone who does these things, anyone who deals dishonestly.

As a start.

Tie this in with some 'character counts' points including Ron's long historical voting record, his integrity in office, his marriage, his two brothers being pastors, etc.

AGREED!

What about including Ron's statement of faith? I think that's a big deal and would be great.

I should have been more clear I guess. I meant that it really should not really be holding anyone up at this moment.

Edit: Also, I have done political ads in the past and the papers will help make any minor adjustments before printing....

You know - it really should be called out that Ron Paul is endorsed by Cory Adams.

"You called it selfish and cruel that men should trade value for value - you have now established an unselfish society where they trade extortion for extortion. Your system is a legal civil war, where men gang up on one another and struggle for possession of the law, which they use as a club over rivals, till another gang wrests it from their clutch and clubs them with it in their turn, all of them clamoring protestations of service to an unnamed public's unspecified good. You had said that you saw no difference between economic power and political power, between the power of money and the power of guns - no difference between reward and punishment, between purchase and plunder, between pleasure and fear, between life and death. You are learning the difference now." I love this quote from atlas shrugged I feel like its perfect for what's going on now with the debt debate. There are tons of quotes from the founding fathers about factions being what drags this country down. Federalist papers and george washington come to mind first. maybe we could have quotes from the federalist papers and from ron paul matched up to show how his thinking is closest to them, and possibly quotes from the other candidates showing how far off they are. And top it off with the endorsement from ronald reagan makeing sure to state he's the only candidate who has been endorsed by reagan.

Didn't it basically say he does not want his faith used for political purposes?

Also, is it 10" wide or 7.5" wide?

The statment of faith that I read covers the fact that he does not use his faith for political purposes. I agree that his statement of faith would be good but nothing else of a religous nature...

Edit: I am pretty sure that everyone agrees that it is 10" wide....

Statement of faith ok but I would not put in Bible verses.

alright, from reading this thread these are a couple things that the OP might want to include/highlight

1. Statement of faith - we need the christian conservatives on board.

2. plan for entitlements - Ron sets himself apart from the crowd since he will cut overseas spending and not entitlements

3. voting record - this is something none of the others can compare to. Bachmann voted for TARP and Ron didn't. This should help with the fiscal con's

4. delivered 4000 babies - this is a pretty big deal. Even if it is appealing to emotion a bit, I think Iowan GOP'ers are pretty pro-life and i'm sure there are a good number of single-issue voters.

5. The only guy who can beat Obama - from my experience talking to Iowan GOP'ers this is one of most Iowan voters top two issues, you should definitely show some polling that shows Paul close to Obama in head to head matchup and his numbers with independents. This will be a big turn on to most Iowans.
