I understand the concerns about this printing on newsprint. However since it is an insert, chances are it will done on gloss stock. I will look into this today to see how its being produced just in case the deciders like it, that the final product will up to par.
That would make a beautiful insert into any newspaper across the country, especially so in places like Iowa and SC. I just want it big enough for older folks to read it well enough.

10" x 9.75" in the Tabloid section in which this will be running.
It is a special section in the paper for the Straw Poll and will be distributed independent of the paper at the event as well.

It's very professional. I would prefer a more text dominated design...to me, the beauty of the work makes me sleepy and less likely to take action. But, it's really good - main thing is to remind people to vote for Dr. Paul on the 13th.

Is there a way to work in "bring your friends and family to vote..." ?
- a phone number for info?

Did I miss something? Gary sent me the dimensions of:

10"x7.5" and I asked twice...

Michael, those were the dimensions that KK O'Neill first sent to Gary and to me. ( I forgot I had them earlier - so many e's going back and forth. ) I got a clarification from her when I called to get the correct numbers and she said she had made an error and that 10" x 7.5" was indeed an error.

The correct numbers 10"w x 9.75h".

I made the change in OP that was put on top on the HomePage.

I just called and talked to the design department and she just told me 10" x 10" final size. I believe her name is Ann that I spoke to.

Your post above says 10"w x 9.75"h... which is correct???
When I spoke to the paper on the phone the lady said it was 10"w x 9.75"h

which is correct???

I forgot the "7". I just edited it. Sorry.

This is the final say so from who is handling this account at the paper.

"Hi Sunny,

I received your voice message. I apologize for the incorrect information on ad size. I have attached a flyer with tab sizes and circulation information for your review.
Full page is 10" x 9.75".
This was also emailed to Gary and Angie who were passing this on to the creative team.
Let me know if you need additional information.

KK O'Neill"

I like it. The one thing I would do is somehow make the picture of Ron smaller, and the text much bigger.

All of the ideas so far look GREAT!

Just a thought... A lot of people these days have Blackberries, iphones, Droids, etc... what about integrating a small QR Code into the ad? Something that people could scan with their smartphones that would take them to a the campaign site, or another page with more in depth information on Dr. Paul. Basically, I'm trying to think of how we can add depth to the ad.

What I mean by that is this: I doubt that many people will pay much attention to an ad that is just full of text. So I think a simpler approach is better, with some nice graphics and the key points (like the concepts already put forth in this thread). But, at the same time, if possible I think it would be good if we could integrate another level into the ad, so that people who want to know more, can go deeper easily.

For example, this ad:

Ron's picture is made up of text. Though I appreciate the subtlety of using the Constitution, what about using that text to give more information about Dr. Paul? In that way we can have a nice looking ad, that people will see and at first look get the points we are trying to make, but it will also give those who want more information the opportunity to "go deeper" by reading the text that makes up the image.

The QR code is just a perhaps simpler idea toward that same end - adding depth to the advertisement so that it provides as much information as possible to those who want it, but isn't overwhelming to those who glance at it. Thoughts?

Also remember that these ads don't have to be Just for Ames. I am planning to e cost info for around here and see f we can pick of the ads to get out here as well.
