There's a certain logic to that. But how exactly is that a travesty we can work with?

Stop saying either Clinton or Trump is 'the bigger enemy', and start telling people we can't afford to hit either of these icebergs.

'Ever hear of the Libertarian Party? They have someone worth voting FOR. Vote against both of those crooks, and vote FOR someone good, all in one fell swoop!'

But if the establishment can prove useful in keeping Trump out of the WH, more power to them. Trump is the bigger enemy.

I'm not a Trump fan, but that seems very hard to believe... I think the establishment holds back so they can feign to the people that we have some semblance of liberty. If it were up to them I think they would prefer to be way more authoritarian the Trump. I despise authoritarianism and that's why I can't support Trump, but at least he is honest about his and we know where he stands.

While a tabloid, the tabloids have been right many times in the past on stories like this, due to a type of morality that makes it impossible to state this type of news anywhere else (despite eventually nailing Clinton, and despite how forceful the scandal may go, such as harassment, rape, and worse).

The typical way the establishment runs these stories, you won't see it hurt Cruz until after they run him as much as they can for a brokered convention - then they will push it full steam if they get that as the reason they have to substitute another candidate no one has heard of - one chosen by the elite. At which point, it will make the mainstream news if true.

Trump only needs it to damage Cruz until after Minnesota.

Hey, I'm not in the Cruz camp. You don't have to convince me of that. I'm just saying....if having an affair is where voters are going to draw their line in the sand, they're going to have a difficult time choosing a candidate this go-round. But if hypocrisy is the only issue, you may have a point.

It could be completely false, or he could have an arrangement with his wife, or he may be an outright cheater. Regardless, don't lie about someone just because you don't like them.

So far I've seen a lot of smear and not a lot of journalism or fact-finding. The women deny it, the National Enq article doesn't even say affair... it says "got cozy' and other such nonsense. These are innuendos without evidence and social media is eating it up.

Ted Cruz called a tabloid story of alleged extramarital affairs "utter lies" and blamed Donald Trump "henchmen" for pushing the story.

"This garbage does not belong in politics," Cruz told reporters while campaigning in Wisconsin.

A National Enquirer story claimed Cruz had five affairs. Two of the women mentioned in the reported affairs have publicly denied the claims.

"This National Enquirer story is garbage. It is complete and utter lies. It is a tabloid smear. And it is a smear that has come from Donald Trump and his henchmen," Cruz said.

Specifically, Cruz blamed longtime Trump ally Roger Stone for placing the story.

Yeah, but now you have a washington times reporter saying he knows its true for two of them, a breitbart reporting saying he had a story he had wanted to publish, and Cruz's own pac supporting person Liz saying she had heard rumors. So it isn't coming from just the national enquirer now.

fyi - notice this is exactly the response Trump gave that Cruz was behind the nude ad. tit for tat.

Call it my cynicism or my conspiracy-mindedness... but this whole thing is looking more and more like a setup.

From Trumps run, Ted Cruz playing spoiler to Rand, everything.

There is no way Cruz sleeps with FIVE women and keeps it secret. This has TPTB/Goldman smokescreen written all over it.

Am I off base here? It just doesn't make sense that it unfolds this way. I wouldn't vote for Cruz anyway, but this is overkill and almost obvious that something else is happening behind the scenes.

Seems to me that most probable and likely scenario is that this story came from the Trump camp. Trump has connections. Trump plays dirty.

It's too early for the establishment to pull this kind of trick. They still need to deny Trump the majority before the convention.
