Trump won't participate in Thursday's debate

Isn't this that "Take your ball and go home" tripe that everyone of his supporters acuse me of when I say I won't vote for the douche?

Maybe when people don't see DT on stage they will think he's out. Like out of the race. LOL

I'm sure this could cause him a few points in Iowa at least since many in that state will be watching the Iowian debate.

Yeah, I know it's difficult to believe any of the shit he says... but in this case if he relents he look like even more of an asshole. I think he's stuck with not showing up.

But you know, in either case his supporters will cheer him on either way.

Whether Rand got cheered or booed, if he boycotted a debate he qualified for, but placed high in IA regardless, it would be received as a "like a boss" moment where he showed he could push back against a bullying media, and even cost them ratings.

Boycotting the media over their attempt to dictate that their loaded attack PC questions must be accepted by the participants is simply a good idea, no matter who chose to do it.

Hmm, so if Chairman Mao was here and did the same thing, you would applaud him? How about Stalin or Pol Pot?

If Rand did the same thing there'd be different spin to it, focused to produce a maximum negative outcome for Rand.

I hope people get this, when it comes to media, it's Trump and 'everyone else' and within that 'everyone else' segment its 'everyone else' and a Paul. So yes a Paul is at the bottom of the totem pole when it comes to positive media coverage.

It's naive at best to suggest that if anyone else reciprocate what Trump does will have the same reaction from media and the boobus.

I think you are seriously deluded. He isn't boycotting over the media... He's staying away because he has too much to lose from a debate and very little (if nothing at all) to gain.

It's the same reason why Hillary pushed to limit the debates. (and why, now, she needs them)

Debates are not good for the frontrunners. It would be much better to just have the media repeat your name about a billion times before people go to the caucuses. That's exactly what they'll do for him. The media has been especially nice to Mr. Trump. Why would they stop now? Hillary hasn't won yet.
