Trump Promises a “100% Tariff” on Cars Made Outside the US

What is a truly miserable existence is to live in absolute ignorance of the dangers in the world even in an era where they are all crashing down on your head.

You think this nation is crashing down about our ears because we forgot how to build Japanese cars?

It's crashing down around our ears in many ways and for many different causes, but the destruction of our industries that turned so many people into welfare dependents who vote for the Demoncrats to keep the welfare flowing is one of the bigger ones.

What a repetitive bore.

You want us to not only pay enough tax to keep OSHA (to name one of a thousand) in operation, pay extra for domestic products because OSHA is overhead, and pay the government extra to buy things not built where OSHA can affect the operation.

I want to get rid of OSHA.

Why do you hate America?

There you go lying again, nobody said anything about keeping OSHA.
Your tricks get more basic and transparent all the time.

You know why OSHA is still here? because free trade means people can still buy things from countries with zero safety or environmental rules and lots of slave labor.
Big government like OSHA, the EPA, and all the rest would not be tolerated if they weren't compensated for by China and others.
Why do you think it was Nixon who both created them and opened up relations with China? because they were two sides of the same coin meant to destroy our industries and make us interdependent so we could be forced into globalism and world government.

You really can't figure out why OSHA is relevant to the conversation? Really?

I thought you could.

Why do you think sticking on a few tariffs like band aids will solve the problems OSHA and EPA and all the rest create better than getting rid of the problems would?

This is why Republicans have been failing for 95 years. You're all having too much fun whining about the havoc the Democrats (and Republicans like Nixon) caused and using it as an excuse for even more random exercises of power to simply undo the damage.

And then after entrusting government to exercise power to fix the problems government caused when it exercised power, you're amazed when government exercises its power to give itself more power to cause problems.

You can't even, throw the damned Ring into the fire, and it's not even your damned ring.

It's not either/or.
You get rid of the agencies and you put up the tariffs, the exact reverse of what the globalists did to us.

And Free Trade would have destroyed the industries all on its own even without help from regulations, the regulations just helped it go faster.

You keep insisting that Sauron's Ring (Free Trade) is a ring of power that can be used for liberty.
The globalists created it and push it because it serves them and them alone.

It's not either/or.

I just can't figure out why Trump keeps selling the band aid and rarely mentions the cure.

You keep insisting that Sauron's Ring (Free Trade)...

Do you really think that's what Sauron's Ring is?

Do us all a favor. Tell us which Tolkien forum you're going to, and when, and start talking about Sauron's Ring of Free Trade. That would be an amusing troll.

So, in your book free trade is an exercise of centralized power. Maybe you'd like to explain to the class how that works...

Excellent point.

It must be a truly miserable existence to be so terrified of every thing and every one that you feel you must control their choices to fit within your own myopic, childish and irrationally fearful worldview in order to feel anything resembling safe and secure. I pity you.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to have a cultural and economic identity that is shared with people beyond just yourself.

And that, is what the globalists want to destroy.

So how does an overabundance of government that we ought not tolerate get defeated by raising a tax? I'm unclear on the concept.

OSHA is mostly just an illusion currently, because it is almost entirely bypassed by buying products from other countries. If the nation took my advice (fat chance) and banned all trade, OSHA would be the first thing to go because it would have to go, out of necessity. The full effects of OSHA, without trade, would lead to literal starvation, and politicians above all want their populace fed and fat, to avoid getting overthrown.

Until it becomes the accepted norm… slowly, but surely.

Yep. I'm amazed that most people still can't see that no matter which guy is elected, the end result of their campaign pledges and policies all fall remarkably well into the Agenda 2030 and Great Reset plans. Trump may as well say "NO MORE FOREIGN CARS FOR YOU IF I AM ELECTED". And then his astroturf shill army applauds, followed by his braindead supporters. Same applies to Biden. It's so obvious. They're taking turns selling the A2030/WEF plans to the masses.

eta: prime evidence of astroturf shilling from Swordy below. Watch the slow twisting of the narrative....

Sauron's ring is interdependence, which is the admitted natural outcome of Free Trade.
Interdenpendence allows the international bankster class the power to use it to force all nations to submit to their will.

One market to rule them all,
one market to find them,
One market to bring them all
and in the world government bind them.

It's used at the regional level and on the global level at the same time, the EU was created to destroy the sovereign independence of the European nations through the Common Market.

It doesn't shock me that you fear people being able to make their own decisions with their money.

It doesn't shock me that you prefer for foreign tyrants to give them no choice by using slave labor and other criminal methods to destroy industries and destroy the incomes of the middle and working classes.

Is there any problem in the country for which you think that the solution is more freedom rather than less?

I've seen that argument before. "I know people can't be trusted to make rational decisions because I'm not capable of making rational decisions, and that's why you have to support the totalitarian I've made the rational decision to support!"
