TREVOR - Please take the notice off BEFORE USA TODAY comes out

I've made the resolution of making a very large donation on December 16 regardless of what is posted on the tea party site, and I have also made the pledge. I agree that the message should be taken down, but, ultimately it is the tea party webmaster's choice.

I almost spit my coffee at the end of that quote.

edit: and I support taking down the message

It's a pity, that nobody else knows the ftp password. Now Trevor gets drunk or whatever and we can wait hours for this tiny change. It would be wise to share that password with at least 1 person in case of emergency. It's not some tiny little private website anymore...

I don't think it will matter much. If people read the ad, and like the message, they may be inclined to donate and help right now if they know the campaign needs more money. That could be a good thing.

For Pete's sake...

"Let's clean up the forum and delete threads that might not look good on us before the ad comes out!!!"

That's just silly.

It's an Internet forum. It contains discussion.

Central control urges abound, even in a forum dedicated to freedom.

Should we delete this thread too, so no one is clued in that we deleted a thread? I think I could find another 50-100 we could delete to clean this place up. Let's get busy people! Delete! Delete!

If you want to know whats been causing me to spit in my coffee, is that for the last few days I've been trying to get the official campaign headquarter to stop listing on one of the state sites that they are giving away Ron Paul dollars to people who collect signatures.

That seems to me to be an even more important issue than this by far, considing the negative press from them being siezed, but so far no one has seemed to care. I've called, left messages, wrote people, mentioned it on this site.

I mean look:

http://www.ronpaul2008.com/states/virginia/

"Virginia Ballot Signatures: A Volunteer Effort

There is some exciting news for Ron Paul supporters in the Great State of Virginia.
[...]
But wait.... Theres more! By registering at you can participate in the statewide Virginia Petition Contest to collect the most signatures by an individual supporter. Weekly prizes will be awarded and a grand prize will go to the person who collects the most valid signatures in total.

The Weekly Prizes will be a Copper Ron Paul Dollar elegantly boxed and signed by the candidate.

The Grand Prize for collecting the most signatures overall will be a $20 Silver Ron Paul Dollar boxed and signed by the candidate.
[...]

If that doesn't make a difference off the main web hq site, I really don't think this is going to make any difference either; no one notices these things. We do need better co-ordination. But that is why the Ron Paul campaign asking for donations now - better co-ordination - (so donate now and keep donating weekly. I also expect the 16th to bring in a lot of cash too).

Yeah, take the message off the site please. Don't piss at llepard's effort the way you with the Ron Paul Girl.

I doubt Trevor is getting drunk right now, but I wouldn't blame him after the way some folks have treated him lately.

That being said, it is probably a good idea to have more than one person with admin access to the server, or at least have a "plan B" for stuff like this. Maybe he plans on taking it off just prior to midnight, who knows.

I wrote in a previous post (here) that "My old boss always used to give me copies of important files, papers, etc. as a backup, telling me, "here, keep these safe, just in case I get run over by a bus". God forbid that anything should happen to Trevor, but in the IT business, it's all about backup, redundancy and automation."

.

I just emailed Trevor...

"Let these days pass Trevor. It will come good for you. No problem. We are very, very close to a massive breakthrough. I posted what's below earlier tonight. When you get a moment please remove the notice from the site. No need for it. You are going to get to 30k in pledges and we are going to raise the 10m. KEEP ON KEEPING ON. You are close to making history, just keep it moving forward. USA Today comes out tomorrow let's present a full on, clear, clean message to the world. Let's do everything we can to secure 10m in one day and stun DC. There are a lot of us in Hollywood fully behind you and your team Trevor.
Best regards,
Shaun.

It was only an example, that he can 'disappear' anytime for whatever reason without notice and we will be stucked like we are now. I'm far for blaming him for anything (although I don't like his message).

Maybe.. I know it's his website etc., but it would be good to be more opened and discuss some stuff, so we wouldn't even have that discussion here.

God forbid that anything should happen to Trevor, but in the IT business, it's all about backup, redundancy and automation.

100% agreed

Seriously, the special message should not be displayed so prominently on the site.

Yes, right now we can't seem to contact Trevor to remove it. Emails, PMs have been sent, phone calls have been made.

For those who didn't read through this entire thread, Nathaniel Yao, (the owner of the TeaParty07 web domain) who works directly with Trevor on this project, has been trying to contact Trevor ever since I called Nathaniel on the phone over an hour ago.

If anyone is from Miami Beach and you know Trevor, his relatives, friends, or any way to get a hold of him, by all means, call him up.

I think it's just a matter of time, though. Trevor will come through... he always does. :)

.

Man, I hate to bump this thread, but I'm not sure what PM or thread Trevor will read first if he comes online, so I'm doing it anyway, to get his attention on this. I apologize for those who are tired of the thread. If this thread misses him again, I won't bump it anymore. It's getting close to this old guy's bed time. :o Thanks.
