They are dogging RP hard

Doesn't Dark Prince refer to satan? Why would any self-professed follower of Christ give himself such a name?

Hell, I'd slit the throat of my next door neighbor if I knew that doing so would save my town from destruction.

This guy is as Christian as he is conservative. Not.At.All.

And seriously, what kind of person comes up with this kind of ridiculous scenario?

If I had to eat a billion green M&M's to save the world from aliens I would do it in a heartbeat.

Greetings and Salutations,

this should be interesting :)

just curious, would you slit your own throat?

Slam!

You couldn't be more wrong about non-interventionism being a non-starter. I think there may be some confusion about what non-interventionism is. It certainly does not have anything to do with "turning back the clock". Michael Scheuer, best selling author, and former head of the CIA Bin Laden unit disagrees with you. Our horrible foreign policy over the last 50 years or so has caused unintended consequences, aka "blowback".

Take for example what our gov't did in 1953 when it overthrew the Mossadegh and installed the Shah in Iran. The Iranians have resented us ever since. Then in the 1980s we created a monster in Saddam Hussein and backed him up against a war with Iran, and then wonder why he invaded Kuwait. Then, around the same time, we support Bin Laden against the Soviets in Afganistan. Now he's our enemy. These are but a few examples of our shitty foreign policy.

I've got a question for you. If you agree that we should adhere to the Constitution, then how do you feel about Congress NOT declaring war in Iraq, or Viet Nam or Korea for that matter?

Fact is, our military is stationed in over 130 countries. We spend over 700 billion dollars a year on this 'policing' of the world that is NOT constitutional. We don't have the money for this anyway, unless of course, you're okay with the Federal Reserve issueing endless amounts of money into the economy, allowing the gov't to borrow us all into oblivion.

I hope your "cold reality" doesn't include repeating the same foreign policies year after year. You know what they say about repeating the same actions over and over while expecting different results......

Dunk!!

Yes, it's always foreign policy that's the deal-breaker with those-that-must-not-be-named.

High Five!!!

:D

you guys rock...

:)

I agree, GJ. Hopefully some of the people from Republican Revolution will pick up where he left off if you guys didn't scare them off.

Cut down a single tree to save the forest. Collectivist thinking at it's best.

There's not a whole lot of differences between collectivism, socialism, communism, and other isms.

The opposite of collectivism is individualism.

You know, I hate to say this, but I don't think people like Darc (Edward) really hate Ron Paul, (he and others may think they do) but I think it's that they hate Ron Paul supporters because so many of us act like stupid bitches (guys included). WE are the ones who have turned people off to Ron Paul. This HAS to be it because anyone with half a brain who thoroughly researches the man, comes to realize that he is right about most (not all) of what he says. When we go on other forums and act like the asses we sometimes act like on THIS forum, it's no wonder certain people react the way they do.

It's not just about foreign policy either. They, most likely, never even gave Dr. Paul a chance because we, as representatives of the Ron Paul Revolution, did a crappy job of winning people over. You can't beat people over the head and expect them to agree with you about anything. And if we are ever going to get our country back, we have to do a better job convincing people like this guy that we are more alike than we are different.

I see what you're saying and I agree and disagree. There are some people we cannot reach.

During our local fair I had the opportunity to speak to many of the local "GOP Elites", one of whom spoke of the coming war with China, Russia and Iran as predicted by the Christian Prophet Nostradamus. Really?

A friend of mine referred to them as end-times satanists. I have a hard time disagreeing with that statement as they seem to be intent on bringing it about.

I agree that not everyone can be reached. Some people have their heads so far up their butts, they don't know which end is up. :D But I usually give most people the benefit of my wisdom (tongue in cheek) before I write them off completely. It takes many months, sometimes years, to pull people out of their comfort zones and begin to question their belief systems. All I know is that you never win anyone over by degrading or insulting them - never.

I agree with your message. There are also some people who aren't really conservative based on their own reasoning, but simply follow whatever Hannity et all say. Hannity's against foreign intervention under Clinton? No nation building!! We'll create enemies and it's too expensive!! Hannity's for foreign intervention under Bush? More nation building!! We'll nip terrorism in the bud and print the money!!

And, there are people who are very reluctant to admit they were wrong. Especially for these people, it can be helpful to promote the message of liberty, without tying it to Ron Paul so much. Some people just will not change their mind on these things, or they really believed the newsletter crap. Hey, if someone believes in the message and will promote it, I don't care if they don't like RP.

I agree with this, I think within neoconservative circle once you inject the name of Ron Paul they automatically shift to "Paultard" without giving your reasoning or evidence a chance. I think in order for the movemnent to move forward we do as Ron Paul suggests and promote the message and not the messenger unless they live in his district.

I agree with this, absolutely. I usually avoid mentioning RP without having some idea of what the reaction will be. Many more people will listen to raw ideas than will listen after a label or politician has been connected to them.

I don't think he said he was a Christian. I was just hoping that he didn't call himself one after the throat-slitting comment.

My intention is never to scare anyone off. My intention is to engage them.
Me, too. And you do a fine job of it, Deborah.

I think to a large degree you are right. I became an instant zealot when I first discovered him and had to learn the hard way to tone it down a LOT if I wanted people to take me seriously.

This happens to me fairly often. I agree that we must move past the man to his message when we are proselytizing for liberty. I attended the Governor's Inaugural Ball last week and I was able to casually tag team the room with another GOP RP supporter talking about the Campaign For Liberty. We got a lot of good reactions but there were some people whose bulb completely blew out at the mention of Ron Paul's name. The whole idea, what we are trying to accomplish here in VT made so much sense and sounded so good until "Ron Paul" was said. And as always it IS the foreign policy. That and the War on Drugs are the hardest nuts to crack with these folks. But we agree on SOOO much more.

Yep. Absolutely.

While I agree what is being said about acting like an ass and throwing RP's name around willy-nilly, it should be noted that was not the case here. The OP on RepRev called out RP supporters, asking us to explain RP's vote. The posts I saw, from RP people, were all respectful and intelligent. In fact, before I was banned, one of the posters acknowledged that the OP should never have called us out.

Their posts, OTOH...

I'm still dumbfounded by the way that played out. Ask someone for their opinion and then get it-- respectfully and intelligently-- and then run around hollering "GET OUT OF HERE RON PAUL KOOKS!!!" It just doesn't make any sense to me.

Interestingly I joined earlier this week, never posted anything except for answering the questions on the sign up page-- I never mentioned foreign policy or Ron Paul. I received 4 friend requests but didn't add them because I was new and didn't know if I really wanted to be friends with them or not. As of yesterday afternoon I was no longer able to access my account.
