the reagan question

I disagree.. Ron said Reagen campaigned for Ron in 1978..

No other endorsement is greater than that FACT.. Reagan was actually making speeches in 1978 in endorsing Ron to be elected.. Ron had Reagan campaign FOR him.. Who else can say that on that stage? Answer is, NO ONE.

He seems more concerned with getting his message on monetary policy out than he does in winning.

Maybe this is the message Americans should care about, but it isn't what they do care about.

He OWNED that question! The economy is #1 issue and he addressed it. He just needs more time DAMNIT!

Then what do you suggest he addresses? Since the economy is the #1 issue what do you suggest he addresses? Monetary policy is extremely relevant.

Sound money needs to be mentioned but he did blow it. Reagan wouldn't support being essentially $50 Trillion in debt (at least when Reagan ran for President). He wouldn't support the occupation of Iraq, after what he said he learned in Lebanon.

Ron should have also made a bigger deal out of the fact that he is the only one on the stage that Reagan ever supported! (some didn't run for public office during the Reagan era but it still would make a point!).

Oh well...

It was certainly a better answer than McLame's or Rumney's. (I grudgingly concede that Huckabee gave a good answer.)

Yeah he answered that question great. He also said he doesn't pretend he knows who Reagan would endorse now which was a good answer. Huckabee was smart enough to also comment that it's ignorant to pretend to know who he would support.

everyone here wants him to talk about him and Reagan being such great pals... he needed to emphasise this of all places tonight.

He Blew it... he couuld have made a strong point, instead he blathers on about the gold standard... COME THE FUCK ON ROn...

Im tired of hearing about the damn gold standard... Im tired of hearing the conspiracy that is the Fed, we know they are bad, but you got to win some VOTES first.

I might have thrown in that "we don't understand middle eastern politics" quote... but I felt like he did alright.

It would be interesting to see if Nancy Reagan throws out an endorsement and who it might be for... considering that 2 of those 4 completely bastardize Reagan's name by associating themselves with him.

He just nonchalantly said "Reagan campaigned for me in 1978" I'm sure a lot of people were like wtf? And then he went on to talk about their similar economic views. I'm sure he grabbed a lot of voters with that.

I think he did just fine especially in light of Huckabee's response right after him which basically chastised Romney and McCain who were crowing over how they thought Reagan would endorse them.
