The oficially **official** Trump vs. Harris "debate" thread

I did like when Trump told her to go to DC & do action to stop border crossings

He’s going to lose & needs to do more of that to put America first.

(He can be more articulate & accurate, with what he’s asking)

Sounds about right.

Trump's always been a horrible "debater", in that these dog and pony shows are no more a "debate" than the man in the moon.

In 2016 Trump lost the 1st debate against Hillary by being nice. In the second debate he crushed her by bringing the women Bill Clinton messed over.

Taylor Swift endorsement after the debate will move the needle more than the debate.. although I think Trump won pretty handily despite the poor treatment.

So...I didn't watch the debate. But ^3 minutes in to that he's talking about "Maybe Kamala was fed the questions?" Ummm....okay. We know Hillary was fed the questions for debating Bernie which means she was probably fed the questions for debating Trump. Personally....I think the questions should be posted online for everybody a week before the debate. And if you want spontenaity, let each candidate bring to the debate some additional questions of their own. In the famous "Lincoln / Douglas debates" there was no national medial to provide questions. It was strictly what the two candidates said to and asked of each other. The Candace Owens / Rabbie Schmuley debate was a real debate for example.

I doubt that anybody on planet earth didn't think Taylor Swift had already endorsed Kamala Harris. Mandela effect for sure.

Man, I'm not sure what you were seeing. Yes, he was debating them all. And yes, she lied repeatedly. But he missed so many opportunities and never once knocked her off her game. I thought he was going to get there on the abortion 9-month question, but he kept talking and let her off the hook.

Seriously, this was a BIG disappointment. Somehow Trump always seems to disappoint.

Trump offered to shake Kamala's hand and she accepted with her typical smirk.

According to the BBC It was the first handshake in a presidential debate in eight years.

How long before hand shaking is declared sexist or racist?

Biggest lie I saw from the highlights. (Again, didn't watch the debate).

In the exchange that followed Harris's insistence that she had a plan for the economy, Trump sought to depict his rival as a radical liberal who was also opposed to gun ownership.

He said: "She has a plan to defund the police. She has a plan to confiscate everyone's guns. She has a plan to ban fracking in Pennsylvania and everywhere else."
Harris denied all this.

"[Running mate] Tim Walz and I are both gun owners," she said. "We're not taking anybody's guns away."
She has spoken of her gun ownership in the past - but is a supporter of tougher laws.

Really? So no assault weapons mandatory buy back (taking one type of gun from everybody) or red flag laws (taking all guns from some people)? Translation, as long as you are an approved person you can own an approved gun.

Sounds like he tried but went too far:

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cdxl15ppvzgo
Trump reiterated that he supports exceptions for cases of rape, incest or when the life of the mother is at risk. At one point Trump claimed that some babies were being subjected to “executions” after birth. One of the ABC moderators interceded to fact-check him, saying: “There is no state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it’s born.”

That is an unproven claim that I've tried to verify for years. And that's were people get into trouble, missing the opportunity to do a layup while going for a 360 slam dunk. Here's the layup. Washington DC's abortion law:

https://code.dccouncil.gov/us/dc/council/code/titles/7/chapters/20D

The District shall recognize the right of every individual who becomes pregnant to decide whether to carry a pregnancy to term, to give birth, or to have an abortion.

There's more at the link. Basically abortion is legal in Washington DC all the way through the 9th month with no qualifications. New York's late term abortion law is based on exceptions for the health of the mother or for a non-viable fetus. And Washington DC isn't a state and their laws routinely get overriden by Congress. So rather than talking about abortion "after birth" he should have specifically talked about DC's overly persmissive abortion laws, brought up Dr. Kermit Gosling's lawyers who argued he shouldn't be convited of killing babies who survived abortion because it would have been legal a few minutes earlier, and asked her does she agree with DC's law?

Yeah, that's about what I figured would happen.

Yeah, that's about what I figured would happen.

Yeah, he completely messed up. He needed to call out the deep state, or the regime, or the establishment, whatever you want to call it. And then debate that instead of debating her. Anytime she said anything, he could say, "a puppet says what???", then proceed to attack the regime.

The opening statement I was hoping for:

"I'm not in a debate tonight against Kamala Harris, I'm in a debate against the puppetmasters that are ruining our country. They are devaluing your currency making everything more expensive while their donors get rich. They are escalating wars all over the globe to keep their donors happy while real people are dying - and they're making YOU fund it to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars. They promote division among our population while inviting dangerous invaders into our lands, stressing our support systems, increasing crime, taking our jobs and bringing in dangerous drugs to flood our streets. Our cities are being destroyed while they attend their cocktail parties and enjoy their private security. They weaponized the government against not only me, but against anyone who opposes the regime. They've kept peaceful people in prison, they've censored your speech, they've threatened internet companies to hide any dissent, and they've instituted woke ideologies on our university campuses to brainwash your children and destroy the fabric of your families.

And when they realize that the people have had enough and are supporting me more than the current President, they staged a coup to install a new puppet without a single vote. And they talk about democracy?! Listen, I'm sure VP is a nice enough woman, but she's here because she's a tool of this regime that is causing all this mayhem. And our panel and this network are part of that same regime. We need to end this. We need to fire these people. We need to drain the swamp once and for all. And that's what I'm trying to do. And I need you to join me and join the rest of the patriotic Americans that are trying to do the same."

(yeah, lots of BS in there, but so what)

And then any time Kamala or the panelist spoke, he could paint them as apologists for the regime and not real people.

But alas, he's Trump. :(

Yes, at this point they should just know the questions ahead of time to avoid all of the shenanigans.

You guys realize what her win would mean right?

She would be bad for the southern borders and free speech.

The economy will be cooked under Harris.

Harris is a supporter of this ESG/DEI in companies.

I agree with you completely.
