there are many unavoidable factors that could be detrimental to your pole... wind sheer being first and foremost. then rain, hail, tree branches, bugs, birds, etc. there's a possibility your pole would be damaged beyond repair and no longer able to be polished.

I would think Chinese use pinyin and Japanese use romanji, just like Cyrillic-language texters romanize what they write.
