No it's not. That's just the foreshortening effect you saw while setting it up. You were looking downwards at it. If you compare our poles side by side, mine is clearly bigger and shinier.

You must pay them a lot to spend time working with such a flimsy pole. I don't know how anyone could get their festivus pole as slimy and stinky as you get yours. Poor maintenance, I reckon.
