Tampa Convention Hurricane Watch

kind of classless post. but w/e. glad i was somewhat wrong about where it's going. Winds are picking up over tampa bay. the bay waters are pushed way out. i expect storm surge to push them back once the system clears latitude.

Storm is still sitting off Key West. No where near Tampa.

What it grows to over the gulf is yet to be seen.. bears watching.

Models seem confused on a final landfall. Most show western Louisiana, but the center of the cone says New Orleans. Of course:

Throughout the period...it is important not to focus on the exact
forecast track due to forecast uncertainties and the fact that
significant hazards extend well away from the center.

Added Tampa radar image to the OP.

Latest update....doesn't look good for New Orleans. Even if it hits west of the city, the NE quadrant has the worst weather, except for the center, of course.

Looks like it's slowed from 16 to 13 mph.

I live about 70 east of NO, about 1/3 mile inland, so we're a little anxious here.

Ahh, shit. The Chocolate City is gonna get raeped by Isaac like it did with Katrina? Two words:

School Buses.

Nagin's gone, right?

Half the county is under water this morning, and power/traffic lights out in many locations. Still very windy. Looks like the worst problem for me is the flooding and idiot Florida drivers that don't know how to drive in the rain. My neighbor lost his mailbox. They had originally announced schools would be open today, but closed them early this morning. A complete mess overall.

Good luck to my friends on the Gulf Coast!

good luck ronpaulfollower999!!! you are in my prayers!!! evidently this is the very worst of the storm for central & south florida!
i am hoping to hear from you when its basically over for you! it looks like NOLA could get sorta lucky if it simply goes due north!
