This storm is a bugger to forecast!!

A meteorologist on the radio this morning was saying it's all up to whether it goes more westward or more northward over Cuba. If it goes more northward, the Cuban mountains will weaken it and it will probably make U.S. landfall as a cat. 1. If it goes more westward then it could hit the U.S. as a cat. 3+.

Here is a clue,, Their forecast is always wrong. (16 years in the Keys,,watching this shit)

There is a reason it is called a Storm WATCH.

i spent the day clearing out street gutters. We had a mailbox float up in the driveway yesterday.

just the regular rain is really swamping us up here in pinellas park and downtown st. pete.

Didn't realize that. I was just there (both of those, actually) last Friday/Saturday. I have heard there's still some lingering Debbie flooding elsewhere.

It was a different rain that hit a few days ago that poured a lot quickly.

During Debbie the water made it a few inches from the top of my sea wall. I went out after that quick rain and noticed debris from the canal on top of my sea wall so it must have gone over.

Note to drivers in Tampa.

SOUTHERNERS DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DRIVE IN THE RAIN! EXPECT HEAVY TRAFFIC IF IT RAINS!

Monday is going to be one nasty day in Tampa. Not really dangerous, just windy and rainy.

AND, The Whiskey Joe's beach party is in serious jeopardy, as is any RNC party on any yacht on Monday night.

I had watched these for several years,, and I never understood how people get paid for being consistently wrong.

This is why I have been saying to watch,,
It may follow that line,,it may not. Things change..You won't know till it gets close.

after going north up from Cuba, and that Tampa will be drenched...

The Weather Channel has made a "threat index" for Issac

Aware - Areas shaded in yellow should be vigilant and follow the progress of the system closely.

Alert - Typically these locations are under a watch or warning, or are expected to be in the next day or so.

Action - In these areas, the risk is sufficiently high that preparations should be made for the storm.

Extreme - High probability of particularly severe impacts from a hurricane or tropical storm.

A storm passing to the west of Tampa would mean south winds, pushing water up from the bay into downtown.

It does look like ISAAC's path is now going towards the panhandle

Unless, (and all of these have happened before),, it continues north runs up the east side and hits Georgia,, or turns out to sea.
It hits the mountains of Cuba and dissipates,
Runs along Cuba and out to the west,, or curves later (than expected) and goes up into the Gulf.

And it could follow the course shown, (except that has changed every few hours),,,

This is why it is called Storm Watch.
