Its just foolish. Ive lived in Florida all my life.

The problem isnt Old People, its the Media that they watch and trust.

The elderly here do not know how to use computers very well, the majority do not even own one nor want to mess with them.

They refuse to want to learn, and dont want to change their ways.

Its a fact.

Blame the Media.

+10.
The old people didn't blatantly fail to inform the public about one of the candidates running for office and instead give only the glossed over image of their two chosen candidates. The "old media" did.
The old people didn't build this into a "ooohhh no.. Romney/McCain is going to win you better vote for one of them or you've wasted your vote" situation.. the "old media" did.

And the Ron Paul campaign was smart enough to realize that there isn't enough money to overcome the old media for this one state.

I agree. My Grandmother doesnt have internet, but she is actually interested in RP after i converted (for lack of better word) my P's, esp my Dad. My other grandparents, who do have internet, only just got it and are hardcore Romney fans. :( I tried and tried w/ them, but there is no convincing. My grandmother told me "Sorry sweetie, Ron Paul will never be president in this lifetime" Look what Faux did to my sweet old granny.

I don't blame the old people as a whole but as a strong advocate of personal responsibility I would have to blame the individual who trusts the media as much as the media itself. Otherwise it would be like saying don't blame the smoker for getting cancer...blame the cigarette.

yep, pretty much everyone is stupid. it has nothing to do with old people.

The problem is they're voting.

Even watching the media, you are still aware McCain wants another 100 yrs in Iraq, Romney, Huckabee, Giuliani all want a continued war; all have obvious (just from watching mostly positive media coverage) economically-unsound platforms.

If they didn't vote, possibly missing ever hearing about Paul through the media, I'd be much less likely to express disgust towards them. That not being the case--for many thousands--I am disgusted with them.

Being old in itself is not a out-of-jail free card when their actions promote the sending of thousands of Americans to die in other countries; or when it will result in the economic bankruptcy of their descendents.

Shit, I know lots of old people; they're mostly stupid and unresponsive to ideas, and were most likely stupid youths and middle aged people unresponsive to ideas. STUPIDITY is the issue, not whether you can "use the internet."

Fuck these geezers.

You can't blame just the media, if someone can look at Ron Paul's message and still isnt at least somewhat swayed or thinks that there are any good points
then they are to blame as well. It's just common sense that is what everyone I talk to RP about tells me. They say wow being a conservative
seems just like common sense and Ron Paul is practically
Mr. Conservative. The problem is that the older people who put America on the path it is on today don't feel it needs to be changed.

Every generation that came before us sold us out somewhere along the way. The blame lies squarely on the shoulders of the folks that gave us the 16th and 17th amendments, the Federal reserve, the New Deal and the Great Society. If they happen to be OLD now, well... if the shoe fits... hehehe

True, and OLD PEOPLE are the ones paying attention to the MSM as if it's the gospel truth.

Also: do we really need these "don't blame (insert group)" threads every time a primary is held?

Mormons

Old People

Whatever

They're all idiots (and should be treated accordingly)

Its not about old people, young people being stupid. Its not about msm. Its about marketing. McCain and Romney are good marketers. So is Wal Mart. RP is not.

Don't blame the elderly.
Look for ways to include them!

They love this country too and are a part of the greatest generation.
They won't come to us. We have to go to them and embrace them. Let's ask them how we can reach their peers!

The internet is NOT their thing and MSM is keeping them from the truth.

McCain is not a good marketer, he gets 1000x the exposure RP gets and he has for many years.

Ron Paul is 1) not a household name, and 2) gets no msm support.

It has nothing to do with being a "good marketer".

Imagine if Coke got free advertising every day on every channel, but Pepsi was on it's own? Coke would outsell Pepsi 1000-1. It's amazing Paul is doing as well as he is.

You mean the old people that are going to die leaving my family and me with a country $9.5 Trillion dollars in debt? OK, who should we blame?

good point. Voting takes effort. It is a consiousce decision, and is not a responsibility one should take lightly. This economy can't afford more imperialism, and the youth will have to pay for it with a bleak future, and hopefully not a draft or depression, police state.
