South Carolina Election Returns - 19:00ET (1/21/12) - Official Thread

Going by the exit poll data in various sections, south carolina is overwhelmingly breaking for Newt. Ultimate face palm. If the republicans want to abandon their values, then so be it.

Only 5% of voters think Ron Paul is most likely to defeat Obama. Liberal Newt - 48%.

Yuck.

We learned in 2007 that people are uninformed until they are informed and the MSM promotes mis-information. This campaign has a very steep hill to climb.

Yes a winner can be called based on exit polls if the difference is significantly beyond the margin of error. It's called statistics.

I'm not putting ANY emotional stake in exit polls. I want to see some actual returns, and about 40% completed, before developing any expectations of how this plays out.

i am angry... >=O. i hope other states are smarter than South Carolina, although it could be wiseful thinking T_T.

I still think they erred greatly in thinking the electorate actually cares about the issues. The electorate clearly only cares about beating Obama. There should have been commercials highlighting Ron Paul's electability.

If by going after you mean campaigning lightly, then yes. Not a lot of resources were placed there, from my understanding.

$600,000 on ads is a lot. They spent a lot in the last week on lodging for volunteers, robocalls, etc.

With so many people focused on electability, I wish the campaign would make ads that publicize the fact the RP has done very well in polls against Obama, much better than Newt!
