South Carolina Election Returns - 19:00ET (1/21/12) - Official Thread

Exit poll on cnn shows 6% under 30...

No surprise it was 8% in 2008. We need to get over this idea that we are going to get a bunch of people that don't vote to vote. While we are strong with the 18-29 crowd that does vote, we seem to have this unrealistic expectation that we are going to get a massive wave of college age kids coming out to vote for the first time. They don't, so focus on the people that do.

oh cmon young people! why did you let old people beat you! i think for the better part of the day, we've been talking about how Ron Paul supporters will go vote no matter what >.<;; only 3% for young people? i guess thats all for Ron lol.

Young people are not a big electorate in southern states.

Independents screwed us. Voted for Gingrich.

South Carolina (except RP voters) is not a very bright state.

Exit polls not correct. This will go into the night to see who gets 3rd. You can get within 2% by asking 2,000 of 450k voters.

We're now brainstorming hard about recruiting young voters through early voting, instead of getting them out to the polls on primary day:

Counting the votes gets in the way of their media narrative of who they pick to win and place.
