Snowden’s Father, Defiant, Will Head to Russia

National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden’s father has plans to visit his son in Russia. Lon Snowden and Snowden-family attorney Bruce Fein did not disclose when they would depart, but said on Sunday they had secured the necessary visas to make the trip.

The elder Snowden also said that he hoped his son would be able to return to the United States at some point, but stopped short of calling for him to return to face felony charges. ”Where my son chooses to live the rest of his life is going to be his decision,” he told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos.

Snowden’s father added that he will advise his son against entering into a plea bargain with federal authorities. ”I’m not open to it, and that’s what I’ll share with my son,” he said, arguing that the former Booz Allen contractor would not face a fair trial in the United States.

In the face of the president’s remark in Friday’s press conference that his son is “not a patriot,” Snowden took a defiant stance. “My son has spoken the truth, he has sacrificed more than even the president of the United States,” he argued.

God be with them--safe trip.

who knows what type of tracking devices TPTB slid up his father's ass, or how badly they threatened him to aid them in his son's detection.

On ABC's THIS WEEK, disgusting rebuttal by US Senator Bob "Young Dominican Prostitutes" Menedez and that racist wacko Congressman Ed Royce(R-CA) both magically chair their respective chamber's Foreign Affairs/Relations Committee

Notice how the corporate media, doesn't allow Mr. Snowden to refute the statements by the politicians on whistleblowers? That's the oldest trick in media/politics, never let a followup questions/challenges to politician's propaganda/lies.

Those entire statements by Menedez and Royce were garbage. The people realize there's no whistleblower protections and Obama/Heir Holder have prosecuted whistlers to the extent of more than all other presidencies COMBINED. Such Ass Clowns and complicit Fascist media.

If he went pro-bono I'd have a modicum of respect for him...
he's quoting James Madison.... he mentioned that they both have visas and will be traveling to Russia but won't disclose when.

if I had the funds i'd look to donate to a Snowden defense fund.

helping the Snowdens - both father and son being heroic figures - should be worth a "modicum of respect".

He's still a lawyer and it's very difficult for me to muster one iota of respect for any member of the "Just-Us" department even if/when they do the right thing....

Here's a deal: complete immunity and a pardon for Snowden. Obama and Congress could then ask Snowden any questions they want. Especially important since Dear Leader Obama has said that he is going to do a thorough investigation into NSA practices.

Three reasons Obama should pardon Snowden.

Immunity, just like these Washington DC hypocrites give government employees that committed multiple/war/whatever crimes.
