THREAD: Trump indictment #4: 2020 election RICO conspiracy [Fulton county GA]

Two down, many more to go.

Sidney Powell, an attorney who was a key figure in former President Donald Trump's alleged efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, pleaded guilty to six misdemeanor counts after reaching an agreement with prosecutors in Fulton County, Georgia.

Powell appeared in the Superior Court of Fulton County in Atlanta on Thursday, where a prosecutor laid out the terms of the plea deal. In exchange for her pleading guilty, Powell was sentenced to six years on probation and must pay a $6,000 fine and $2,700 in restitution to the state of Georgia. Judge Scott McAfee, who is overseeing the case, signed off on the agreement at the hearing.

Powell is also required to testify "truthfully against any and all co-defendants in this matter," McAfee said...

Court documents filed in Fulton County Superior Court showed Powell pleaded guilty to six counts of conspiracy to commit intentional interference with performance of election duties. All six counts were related to a scheme in which Powell coordinated with a data company, SullivanStrickler, to access election data from Coffee County, Georgia.

"The purpose of the conspiracy was to use Misty Hampton's position to unlawfully access secure elections machines in Coffee County, Georgia," Assistant District Attorney Daysha Young explained at the hearing, referring to the elections director in the county who has also been charged. The objective was to "willfully tamper with electronic ballot markers and tabulating machines" and remove voting data from elections systems. Powell entered into a contract with SullivanStrickler to travel to Coffee County to obtain the data.

Powell is also barred from communicating with "co-defendants, witnesses and media until this case has been completely closed against all defendants." She is required to hand over documents to prosecutors and wrote an apology letter to Georgia citizens as part of the deal...

Powell is the second defendant to plead guilty in the sprawling case. Scott Hall, a bail bondsman, became the first when he changed pleaded guilty to five misdemeanor counts at the end of September. He was sentenced to five years probation, a $5,000 fine and 200 hours of community service.

It'll be interesting to see if the conviction leads to her disbarment.

What kind of a punishment is that (more sweetheart deals)?!?

I've heard stories about "criminals" stealing a candy bar getting locked up for decades under the 3-strikes law.

I know I sleep better at night, knowing that my tireless public servants are working so hard to ensure that my vote counts.

She's flipping on Trump. Going to testify against him.

What is there to testify against?

She only agreed to be truthful. Unless they threaten her and make up something untruthful for her to lie about, not sure how she could testify "against" him?

If it smelled like methane and sounded like a Bronx cheer,

I would say that this Kracken has been released.

Just like always, the joke is on us.

Pleading guilty in court is nothing more than surrendering to a power too great to overcome.

The question comes down to money and prison. Many millions of dollars for legal defense and threat of many years incarceration for trying to prove your innocence.

When faced with the dilemma most people will opt to plead guilty to something so they can have closure.

One day when Sonny gets caught in the crosshairs, maybe Sunny will have a different perspective.

Freedom is gone or maybe never existed. All it takes is an accusation and the power of the government to have the most honest, righteous, person persecuted.

This is nothing new. Jesus was crucified for his beliefs and all his disciples abandoned him. Tis easier to hide, cower, and submit than stand righteous.

Truth is treason in an empire of lies.

Looks legit for a major media event. At least the AP was there to capture the moment. But that's it for media.

I don’tvsleep worth a shit most of the time anyway, but it has NOTHING to do with whether or not my vote “counts.” I don’t vote but even if I did it wouldn’t matter. Mt vote wouldn’t/doesn’t count. It never has and never will.

The only vote that actually does count is the one you cast when you loudly and publically proclaim, “ Enough! I will take no more. I WILL NOT COMPLY!”, and back that up with the steely resolve to continue to resist no matter what it takes, and to back your brother and sister liberty advocates to the hilt when they do likewise.

That’s the only “vote” that matters.

Sidney Powell has not settled her defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems…
Won’t this hurt her case in this defamation lawsuit: https://archive.ph/P48JF

If she has no deal for the federal charges, why would she make a deal for the state charges?!?
Can she still plead not guilty to federal charges, now that she has already admitted guilt in Georgia?
.
"One of the revelations from Sidney Powell's hearing on Thursday is that her agreement relates to cooperation on all "state" charges – leaving federal charges against those accused of election interference off the table, an expert said.

Andrew Weissmann, the former senior prosecutor under special counsel Robert Mueller, assumed that meant federal prosecutor Jack Smith wasn't willing to work with Powell.
"She has no deal with Jack Smith," said Weissmann on MSNBC Thursday.

If I'm reading the OP right, she's basically being charged with a conspiracy to audit the voting data?

LOLROFL

Seems about as effective as voting at this point, IMO. You'd need millions upon millions of well-informed people all doing this in unison, which admittedly is what you'd need (and won't get) with voting to make a difference. Perhaps we should just admit that neither seems viable in a castrated society.

Awaiting the great uprising with bated breath. Who goes first?

Keep in mind that if they fail, even their own supporters will turn on them, proclaiming that it was all just some ruse.

Pretty sure the guys at Bundy Ranch all got picked up later, individually. It's not going to happen like you think it is.

I disagree.

While it is true that your vote doesn't count since they can and do just steal elections anyway, if people don't vote they would just win elections outright and we would have no cause for complaint against their theft. Voting is simply a placeholder until such time that we reach your latter point. There is no strategic upside to not voting though, regardless of the outcome.

The truth, which you likely refuse to acknowledge, is that Powell, Giuliani, Trump, and others were trying to steal the election in Georgia.

It is pretty clear they were trying to reverse a stolen election.
