Filing alleges ‘improper’ relationship between Fulton DA, top Trump prosecutor

"District Attorney Fani Willis improperly hired an alleged romantic partner to prosecute Donald Trump and financially benefited from their relationship, according to a court motion filed Monday which argued the criminal charges in the case were unconstitutional.

"The bombshell public filing alleged that special prosecutor Nathan Wade, a private attorney, paid for lavish vacations he took with Willis using the Fulton County funds his law firm received. County records show that Wade, who has played a prominent role in the election interference case, has been paid nearly $654,000 in legal fees since January 2022. The DA authorizes his compensation.

"The motion, filed on behalf of defendant Michael Roman, a former Trump campaign official, seeks to have the charges against Roman dismissed and for Willis, Wade and the entire DA’s office to be disqualified from further prosecution of the case.

"Pallavi Bailey, a Willis spokeswoman, said the DA’s office will respond to Roman’s allegations “through appropriate court filings.” Wade did not immediately respond to a request for comment."

So? Prosecutorial misconduct doesn't make Trump not guilty. The case can simply be moved to another venue or another prosecutor assigned.

Articles of impeachment brought against DA Fani Willis in Georgia House

The Georgia House of Representatives has brought forth articles of impeachment against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.

Willis, who is leading the charge in the prosecution of former President Donald Trump and his allies in the 2020 Georgia election case, has found herself in a major corruption scandal involving an alleged secret affair with a prosecutor on the case.

For this and other allegations, Georgia State Rep. Charlice Byrd (R-Woodstock) announced on Friday that she has introduced articles of impeachment against Willis.

"With freedom on the line, bold action is necessary. It's time for the legislature to do its constitutional duty and hold corrupt Fulton DA Fani WIllis accountable, which is why I have introduced H.R. 872, articles of impeachment against Fani WIllis," said Byrd on X.

Rep. Byrd issued a statement on the impeachment filings which claims that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis "has used her office not to pursue justice but for political gain."

"Fani Willis has a laundry list of potential conflicts that make her unworthy and unfit to be the District Attorney in Fulton County," said Byrd. "Someone elected to that office is expected to uphold the law and not weaponize their office for political gain. Since Day One when she was elected, Fani Willis has embarrassed the criminal justice system in Fulton County and our state."

The statement details the many allegations against Willis, such as the conflict of interest in hiring alleged secret lover, Nathan Wade, to prosecute Trump and his co-defendants in the 2020 Georgia election case.

Byrd said she was particularly upset about Willis pursuing a high-profile indictment against Trump and the 18 other defendants who were exercising their free speech rights in questioning the results of the election, something that she said Democrats have done in the past but have not received the same treatment.

"The First Amendment is still the bedrock of this country and Fani Willis can't overturn it because she has Trump Derangement Syndrome," Byrd said. "It's time our state lawmakers draw a line in the sand and put an end to her refusal to uphold the Constitution."

Furthermore, Byrd said Willis violated state law when she was sworn into office while still owing money to the Georgia Elections Commission. Georgia law states that it is unlawful for someone to take office if they owe money to the state.

"The people demand we do our job as public officials. When the rights of Americans are grossly violated and we stand by, doing nothing, we set precedent that public officials need not concern themselves with the rights of the citizenry," Byrd said. "This is not a precedent I can live with setting. The time to act is now and I encourage all my colleagues in the General Assembly to join me and impeach Fani Willis."

A judge has set a hearing to go over the conflict-of-interest allegations pertaining to Willis's hiring of Nathan Wade, which will occur on February 15. Critics claim Wade was hired by Willis to secure a prosecution against the former President and his allies.

So? Prosecutorial misconduct doesn't make Trump not guilty. The case can simply be moved to another venue or another prosecutor assigned.

Such misconduct--so far that it materially affects the case or alters the outcome--can make a case fall to pieces, result in a dismissal or a new trial as it calls into question procedural ethics that may prejudice the defense; this however, goes so far beyond mere courtroom misconduct--it's a conspiracy of malicious prosecution.

The prosecutor was banging the DA. This makes Trump not guilty how?

I don't know if there's a more liberal venue in Georgia, though. That's the problem. There are blue areas all over the state, but they lack the corruption that Fulton County has.

If they move the case to another area of the state, Trump might end up getting somewhat of a fair trial. That would be really bad, so I'm told.

No, a finding of guilt makes Trump guilty under the law, regardless of his innocence.

Moreover, this is no longer just a simple matter of determining the defendant's level of guilt--if any--but one of a corruption of process and official misconduct; a taint upon the court.

This is a massive political conspiracy spanning multiple states and agencies at the state and federal level, it is all coordinated at a RICO level and timed to interfered with our national election; one that is utterly unprecedented!

These awful, racist, horrible, despicable, conniving, unintelligent people met in secret with Biden staff in the White House prior to seeking these indictments against Trump and then billed their expenses to local taxpayers.

They've been paying themselves massive sums of money that goes beyond the (so-called) public services they rendered.

They engaged in a love affair or "love triangle" with one another.

They spend monies that was extorted from hard working taxpayers--including public funds that they misappropriated--on extravagant indulgences and to the furtherance of their skeevy affair.

They campaigned on promises of bringing Trump down and taking him out via lawfare--this was well-prior to their having access to privileged information and evidence--a blatant bias and admission of politicalizing public offices.

In, comparison, if a police office is found to have planted evidence or a forensics lab breeches evidence handling protocols on a conviction case, all their prior convictions are called into question; and so for when the chain of custody of evidence processing is broken, a defendant's rights are violated during police interrogations, and the like--this is all part and parcel to our guarantee of due process rights.

Georgia DA Fani Willis Is A Corrupt Hypocrite!

{The Jimmy Dore Show | 02 February 2024}

Fulton County DA Fani Willis, who is currently prosecuting Donald Trump for allegedly attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 election, is proving to be quite the exemplar of government corruption herself. She is accused not only of engaging in an improper relationship with a prosecutor she hired but also of firing a whistleblower, among other allegations

Guest host Russell Dobular is joined by Due Dissidence’s Keaton Weiss to discuss how Donald Trump is so lucky with the antagonists the universe throws in his path.

Wow, she's dumb AF.

Aren't people generally discouraged from volunteering information?

{Nate The Lawyer | 23 February 2024}

Cellphone data obtained by Donald Trump's legal team appears to contradict Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis' testimony about an alleged improper relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade. Willis faces allegations that the alleged affair with Wade and his appointment to the Georgia election interference case financially benefited her.
