Whether it was a bailout or not I'm not sure for the reason I mentioned in my last post, but it was definitely a stimulus (in the sense of being the exact opposite of real economic stimulus, just like all the other stimulus bills), and every bit as keynesian as any other. It was sold as a tax rebate, but only by using "tax rebate" as code for "welfare check."

It's not the same as spending money on infrasructure, but yeah it's not exactly the same as cutting marginal tax rates either. Either way it's not nearly as bad of a vote as voting for TARP.
Definitely not. Especially since they sent those checks only to the people in the low tax brackets, including people who paid less in taxes than the $600 they got back, or even nothing at all, all at the expense of those in the higher brackets.
But I do agree, of the 5 things in that blog, that one was minor compared to the others.
Thune is a puppet, he was put into power by the republican establishment, under bush, they were trying to get daschel out of office, and their evil tricks worked, not that I liked daschel either. But yeah, thune is a puppet
This thug and Sen. Cornhole have been propped up as conservative contenders for 2012. Both are the same old neocon bomb, borrow, and spend that Bush was.
