On my way in to work this afternoon I happened to flip through the dials and land on Rush, just in time to hear him defending Newt, saying he was a victim of the 'most horny generation' ever, and 'good for him that he was honest enough to ask for an open marriage, that's a mark of character in my book...'

The most important elements of the story has been overlooked in this thread... that Newt had this "open marriage" conversation with his wife AFTER the infidelity was discovered.

Because it's not a conservative principle, and Rush paints himself as the most excellent conservative.

I have no problem with people having open marriages. I would never do it, but people can do whatever the hell they want to. That's not the point. The point is that Rush is saying it isn't a big deal if Newt does it, when if it were a Democrat, he'd be all over it. Not to mention Newt signed that fidelity pledge or whatever.
