Rush defending 'Open Marriage' now?

This is misattribution. In the transcript Rush Limbaugh said:

"I got a great note from a friend of mine. "So Newt wanted an open marriage. BFD. At least he asked his wife for permission instead of cheating on her. That's a mark of character, in my book. Newt's a victim."

So Rush said it attributing to a friend, not as his own thoughts

he was joking, he was not defending Newt, or open marriage, he was just saying it's a double standard that Democrats are never subject to the same scrutiny and criticism (obviously, because Democrats aren't the ones who want to force monogamy and child birth on people).

I loved that line though, AIDS, abortion, Alimony...

What made the note great, if not that it made his point for him. It was a snarly deliberate way to make the point he wanted to make and be able to wash his hand of the slime.

In my book, the slime still sticks.

If Ron Paul ever had an "open marriage", you can be damn sure that Rush would be pointing to that as the sign of a kook

The real issue here is that a guy like Newt would tell any woman that he wants an open marriage. Seriously, how does this guy get laid to begin with?

Agreed. It's called plausible deniability.

Quitely out the side of your mouth: I got a note from a friend...

Booming at the top of your lungs: Who cares if Newt wants an open marriage, good for him!

Later on: It wasn't me, I was just reading a note from "a friend".

It just goes to show how these idiots will say anything to get their big government guys elected.

Rush is just another fake conservative trying to herd the people.

Rush will defend a Party before he showed in principles of limited government and conservatism.

Newt is a power hungry whack job.

He also talked about Romney might be too modest to "brag" about his achievements. He compared Romney to himslef when it comes to modesty. LOL

Yeah, maybe Romney's just a smoother character and his wives are smart enough to keep quiet. I could see Romney pulling a chick or two in the real world, but not Newt at all.

They're all coming closer to my position, but what hypocrites. And yes, this does discredit them both pretty heavily.

That sounds about right.

It's funny that to some people you are a conservative if and only if you are cool with invading Muslim countries for no good reason.

I personally like Rush although I find his dislike of RP disturbing. But I mean Rush is on like his fourth wife or whatever so logically how could he possibly have a problem with what Gingrich has done without being a huge hypocrite.

Edit: Looks like Rush didn't actually say it but a friend did. Either way, I still wish Rush didn't have the history he did.

Awright, this is it....
...this marks the day, officially, when the internet makes evangelical adherence to neocon principles inexcusible.

If Rush listened to what his ex said again, you can see that Newt was already having the affair and he was trying to get her to go along with it.
