National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Bill is a Trojan Horse

The tweet that Matt posted here was saying that Nat Recip was halfway to nationwide Constitutional Carry! Seriously dude, come un. You can think this through if you really try hard. If Thomas Massie is successful in passing a NATIONAL constitutional carry bill, that's trampling all over those precious 10th amendment states rights you're concerned about.

The text of Cornyn's Senate Bill S.214

A qualified individual must (1) be eligible to possess, transport, or receive a firearm under federal law; (2) carry a valid photo identification document; and (3) carry a valid state-issued concealed carry permit, or be eligible to carry a concealed firearm in his or her state of residence.

The text of Massie's H.R.9534 has no such language.

If I am confused or in error about the differences or meanings, let me know precisely where and I will concede.

PS: Rand is not a co-sponsor of Cornyn's bill.

Both bills diminish the states rights to restrict concealed carry. One does so more than the other.

Ok, so refer back to my Post #5. Really, it's whatever, as far as I'm concerned.

But don't try to make it like Cornyn or Trump are doing you a favor. Back to the OP, they are Trojan Horses.

2ndA and the rest of the Constitution applies to the states.

[h=3]Article 4, Section 1[/h]Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State. And the Congress may by general Laws prescribe the Manner in which such Acts, Records and Proceedings shall be proved, and the Effect thereof.
[h=3]Article 4, Section 2[/h]
  • The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States.

Massie's bill is better, but either one is a move in the right direction.

You can't trust anyone who thinks the Constitution is meant to enable the states to trample the right enumerated in it.
