Yes, I can see how effective it was.Going to Olive Garden is not effective. Getting our people organized for the conventions and running for positions is effective!

+1776This is flat out false. The reason they were able to do this is because they had more votes on the national committees. That's why every state is important, and we need to build on the 6+ we won last time. They were not able to completely stop those, and they sure as heck won't be able to stop 25+ next time. It's up to us...we can whine and spend our energy telling people to give up, or we can start organizing NOW to take our state. I guess the former is easier?![]()
Wrong. You're not thinking it through.
When we get to the point that we have enough people to take over ALL rules committees, leadership positions, the RNC... then they will actually lose elections big time by screwing with us. As much as we'd like to believe the GOP will lose without Paul voters, polls suggest Romney could win without them. But when we are actually big enough to take over the RNC (say, 51% of the entire GOP are RP Republicans), then them screwing with us means screwing with half of their electorate.
They can screw us and cheat us now because we're too small of a group. Build up to the point where we could throw general elections 50%-25%-25% to the Democrat rather than the current 50%-49%-1%, and they'll have no choice but to stop screwing with us.
By the way, do you actually know what the "National Committee" is? Do you have any idea who its members are and how they become Committeemen? Each state gets a Committeeman and a Committeewoman. They are elected at state GOP conventions. As long as we have enough people on our side, then we can repeat IA, MN, and NV in every state and thus elect 101 RNC members. And again, if it's true that the GOP will start really fighting when we get close to 50% +1, then by that time we will be big enough to guarantee GOP losses if they screw with us.
I concur 100%The Libertarian Party (and all third parties) was condemned to irrelevance a long time a go by the duopoly. Third parties are nothing more than honey pots and "free speech zones", conveniently hobbled and secluded from public view. Why would we want to go there? It's exactly where the establishment wants us. Where they don't want us is inside their party, which is why they're fighting us. That's when you know you're on the right track: when they're not ignoring you.
This is a man of substance, intelligence, and action! I love it!Thanks to the gains made in 2008 by some long-sighted Ron Paul fans who saw the corruption and decided to actually try and make a difference, I was recently nominated to the Executive Committee of my local GOP. We had about ~30 people nominated. The local GOP had interviews, about 18 people went to the interviews for 13 slots. All 18 are RPers. If I do not get on the Ex. Comm this time around we have our County Convention in March. I have been heavily involved so if we have enough people attend I will get on then.
I already worked on a local congressional campaign for a liberty minded candidate who unfortunately lost by ~4% points earlier this year. We will proceed to lay the groundwork to recruit liberty minded candidates to run for office and for liberty minded people to get involved. Our local GOP has breakfasts each month. One of my personal goals is for some of those breakfasts to bring in some liberty speakers from the Mises Institute. If we can succeed in our county we will work up to our Congressional District. We would like to get liberty individuals on the nominating committees, platform committees, etc. I would like to lay the groundwork for the next election cycle so we have a better chance of making an impact.
That is what I'm planning on doing. Much better than going to the Libertarian Party, moaning, complaining, tilting at windmills, etc.
All this crap the RNC is doing has only strengthen my resolve to replace all these corrupt SOBs.
This is very true. Just look at the candidates for office from a few election cycles ago. There was nearly nobody at any level of office that represented my views and if someone did manage to get into office, they were the outlier, a flash in the pan, that had no real philosophical movement across the country. Once they left office then...nothing...crickets. Gary Johnson in New Mexico is a great example.Having a presidential candidate is great for our message, and for winning hearts and minds, but I don't think we have to win the presidency to advance our cause. Rand has already taken some pretty gutsy stands in the Senate that - if he was really just a sell-out - he would not have taken. But he needs more friends there to be effective. It makes no sense for him to rage against the machine and self-immolate before the end of his first term. We don't have the numbers or the popular support yet to simply steamroll the system. We need people in front of the media to continue to make our case. Calmly and confidently to bring more people over to our side. I'm sorry things are not developing more quickly, but I will not let my disappointment obscure the real gains that the movement is making. We have never been in such a strong position as we are today.
And we're going to have more help in that regard with more liberty candidates winning elections. We're essentially the power brokers now in Kentucky. An entire state! We have more of our people coming down the pike too.I respectfully disagree. They have everything to lose and we have nothing to lose. They cannot hurt us nearly as much as we can hurt them. We have made gains (which we continue to hold) in their organization at their expense. We control a number of state parties and more local organizations. We have enthusiasm. They have apathy. I think we have hurt them more than you know. I think they sense their control slipping away and they are scared to death. They can cheat all they want, but they cannot stop an idea whose time has come. We just need to keep at it and convince more people to join us.
It really is that simple. No need to invoke any crazy conspiracies or falling into political apathy; apathy makes their job easier. You're wrong.
For the 500th time, the instant we bring more people into the party than they do, we will win. The ONLY reason they can make these is changes is that there are more of them than us. That's it. That's party politics in a nutshell.
Ron Paul won 10% of the GOP vote in 2012. So assume that means 1 out of 10 Republicans are Ron Paul supporters. With these numbers, what do you expect? The only thing we have to do to take control is to bring in more people. That's all there is to it.
"But AJ, they will cheat us no matter what!"
Wrong. They can only get away with cheating if we don't have enough people. Once we have enough people, then WE will be the ones serving on ALL the rules committees. Once we have enough people, they flat out won't be able to change the rules anymore. The rules will be ours.
We don't care about the members of the GOP, we only want the political machinery and brand name.LOL GOP. I wonder when enough people will wake up and realize they don't want you, and they don't care about the rules. You can't win their game. Use the party insofar as it helps, and that goes for all of em, but for gods sake don't fucking pussify yourselves and sell out in order to 'cozy' up or 'play by the rules' to try and 'get ahead'. Shit don't work, never has, never will. If it did work, they'd quickly change whatever rules necessary.
It's a small club, and guess what...you ain't invited.
No kidding. I 'd love to see the ones whining about corruption at the RNC dropped into some real corruption like the totalitarian regime that controls Burma. They imprisoned their political equivalent to Ron Paul for 20 years and made those outside of power disappear, permanently. Let's keep this in perspective. I'm not scared of party goombas. And you have other suggestions? At some point the corruption becomes so blatant that people will throw them out. Corruption cannot withstand the light of day
You know, a simple picture of you at the RNC with The Collins would clear this up very quickly. Or just any picture of you at the RNC.OH COME ON! I did fundraising on here to help me with my delegate expenses. You should have some idea on who i am
Are all the other states as in tune with the goings on as Virginia?Virginia will no doubt vote these entire bull shit rules down. Im not sure on other states though.
Use the angle that this is bad for Rubio, or Chris Christie, or social conservatives with non-Paul delegates.I know my delegation will not back these rules. We are staying with Rhode Island delegates. I will be make sure they are voting correctly on these floor fights come Monday

This is a direct attack on our liberty. And now I am going to Tampa to fight for our liberty for now and future generations. Monday maybe the biggest day of our lives
