RULE CHANGE: 8 States needed to be put into Nomination

I used to play games with kids when I was young where they changed the rules on the fly. I stopped playing games.

edit: I guess those rule changing kids went on to be politicians and party members.

63 - 38 vote this passed. This allows the Republican National Committee two years to change the rules that govern our nomination process as opposed to the current process which sets the rules by the convention, as opposed to a small committee, four years in advance. For grassroots activist this is a very unfortunate development.

Unfortunately it just got worse. On a 56-40 vote the following just passed "... No delegate or alternate delegate ... May be certified ... Unless the presidential candidate to whom the delegate or alternate delegate is bound or allocated has pre-certified or approved the delegate or alternate delegate."

Wow, taking candy from the kids got so complicated. These sociopaths are going into some hyper-gear to keep their freebies in tact. I say, get off the school bus, go home and get your mommy and daddy to buy you some of your own candy, that candy belongs to that kid, it's not yours to take.

The big one is will that 'we can change rules anytime we feel like it without having delegates vote' rule be ratified, because if so, these are going to be constantly moving targets, in any event.

So,,I'm wondering..
What are the Delegates,,that aren't brain dead morons (I'm sure there are many) thinking of this obviously underhanded bullshit.

I mean,, the ones capable of thought must be thinking about this.

even those that are not Paul supporters have to recognize this as dishonest, dirty, and reprehensible.
Do they really want to support that?

Virginia will no doubt vote these entire bull shit rules down. Im not sure on other states though.

I wonder what our shot will be on Monday of fighting these awful injustices.

you need to persuade other, non Paul delegates that these are bad for ALL grass roots supporters. Santa and Grinch delegates, if there still are any, the Perkins types, they all use grass roots tools.

And the weird rules this cycle were put in place to help ROMNEY, the southern evangelical states should, if they think about it, be very unhappy with an unending ability of RNC alone to change the rules that govern everything with no delegate vote.

They are using fear of the dreaded 'Paul' to stack the deck to have no limits on their centralized power, much as Bush used 9/11 to change civil liberties expectations.

Yep :(

Why even have delegates, other than more people at the coronation?
I guess it does make it look more "official" for the general publica.

I know my delegation will not back these rules. We are staying with Rhode Island delegates. I will be make sure they are voting correctly on these floor fights come Monday

NO the libertarian party will never get elected. This proves we need to be more united and organized in the future. We did not have enough people on the rules committee. We are probably out numbered 10:1.
Libertarian party = seat at Olive Garden

Working in GOP = seat at Rules Committee

try to speak to other delegates in other delegations. You can ask your non Paul delegation folks to come with you so it is a mix of general concern. Lobby each other, they are going to vote on it and most probably are just seeing the sights and will do what they are told, They need a heads up, and a reason to vote against it.

Concur. However it is still impressive. 4 years ago there was no one (okay maybe a couple) on these committees. Today there is 10%. That is actually quite impressive. I hope in 4 years or 8 years we have even more not less.

I've told people before, IMO it isn't about saving this country. It is about ensuring that we have good moral, liberty minded individuals in positions of power so when TSHTF we might be able to restore things.
Four years ago we had 4 delegates on the entire floor of 2000+

This year we have 400 or more delegates on the floor and we're sitting in on committees.

By 2016 we could have a super majority 1200-1400.

Not if they see Ron Paul as the enemy. How many times have their heroes, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Glenn Beck et al bad-mouthed Dr. Paul? They're brainwashed into thinking their doing God's work here.

That's probably why they are in high-gear making rule changes that bind and preselect delegates bound to the primaries .
