In a foreign policy-speech Monday, freshman senator and GOP presidential hopeful Marco Rubio said "isolationist candidates” would make the U.S. less safe.

"They talk tough, yet they would strip us of the ability to keep our people safe,” Mr. Rubio said in his speech
delivered at the American Legion hall in Hooksett, N.H., about other candidates.

Christie and Rubio have both sought to embody the hawkish wing of the party on foreign policy,
while Mr. Cruz and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul have expressed caution about intervening in foreign fights.

If Isolationist candidates make us less safe, then by definition, Rubio is making us less safe by running.

Every time I hear that word I think of For Liberty and Tom Woods saying, "What in the world is isolationist about that?!" after describing Ron's foreign policy positions.

It's astonishing how that word gets turned on its head; Trump, Christie, Rubio, and Fiorina are the real isolationists.

Interventionist candidates will make America's hurt even more. Not to mention none of them have any great plans.

This just needs to be called out as hooeyl Isolationist is not a term to use with libertarians. Libertarians like Ron and Rand want to engage more. They just don't think military intervention is the first resort. It is the last. Engagement means we do a lot of other things first.

Ron and the like have made a good go of the term "non-interventionism." I just wish it had that stick to it like "isolationist" does, but in a positive connotation.

neocons are traitors and war criminals who created ISIS and make us less safee

I'm not promoting Cruz but just thought I would share this comment from Cruz's spokesperson about Rubio's foreign policy. It's really good.

"So Rubio's foreign policy and national security strategy is to invade Middle Eastern countries, create power vacuums for terrorist organizations, allow their people to come to America unvetted, give them legal status and citizenship, then impose a massive surveillance state to monitor the problem,” Stewart said. “I'm trying to figure out if it is more incoherent than dangerous or vice versa.”
