Ron Paul wont be at CPAC 2012 - so YOU better show up and represent!

Allegedly Rand will be there instead.
He's not listed yet on the site though.
Regardless, the $35 student tickets are a good enough deal.

$75 or $195 for me (not student/military.) Too expensive.

What day do they do the straw poll voting?

LOL...between TWO comedians. :D

Anyway, despite all the negatives that can be brought to the table regarding CPAC in recent years, I think this is the ONE YEAR we don't want to be underrepresented.

Rand gets 15 minutes? including the time it takes for whomever to announce him and the time it takes for each to walk up to the podium and down again? So that's--at best--a 13 minute speech by Rand Paul?

Then the comedian after him gets to perform a 35 minute set?

No thanks. I'll visit CPAC another day.

I'll donate to a chip-in. I can't get there with this short planning but I can use the money I would have spent to help send people. I still think this is something we should try to win.

I agree and would also donate.
(But if you start a personal chip-in, make a good case for it if you want my donation.) ;)

Can you be there?
Maybe start a chip-in for people who can represent Ron Paul, but can't afford the ticket?

Could be yeah, but really don't like asking anyone for money. People are also weary after that recent incident where a claimed 16 year old scammed $500 from Paul supporters.

those who don't go should do phone from home to cover those who do. Maine caucuses will be ongoing the same weekend.

Sounds like someone needs to organize setting up a chip-in for this. I'm moving this weekend so I don't really have the time or means, but if you do want to organize this, here is what I suggest:

* create a form for people to sign up and state their need.
* have them agree that if someone pays for their ticket, they are committed to going.
* publish the list of names and set up a chip-in page with the list of names.
* demonstrate exactly which people will be going based on various fundraising levels.
* when and if money is donated, purchase tickets for those individuals and publish the receipts online.
* make sure to do this as each level of fund-raising is achieved.

That's just my 2-cents of ideas on how to organize this. I hope someone is able to take this idea and run with it! Not much time to spare!

I doubt Ron will win the straw poll this year. There was no real push to get our people to CPAC like there has been in previous years.
