Ron Paul will not endorse Gary Johnson

Jesse Benton, the national campaign chairman for Ron Paul’s 2012 presidential bid, flatly told The Daily Caller on Tuesday that Paul “will not endorse Gary Johnson.”
The decision is not entirely unexpected, as Paul’s son, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, spoke at the Republican National Convention last week and has endorsed Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

That to me implies that Ron will endorse Rmoney. Don't like the tone of the article at all.

Ok, this just sealed the deal for me. I'm not voting for Johnson.

Earlier this year, Johnson told TheDC that he would not ask for Paul’s endorsement because the libertarian congressman might not grant one in the interests of “the family business” and his son’s political future within the Republican Party.

Paul and Johnson do have some political differences. Johnson vocally supports access to abortion and same-sex marriage, and is comfortable with limited U.S. military intervention for humanitarian purposes overseas.

Johnson, however, has been campaigning for the support of Paul voters.

I'll bet you money that he won't. Not a chance in hell.

I hope we hear something one way or another from Ron himself. I take anything Benton says with a large grain of salt.

Benton wouldn't have said it unless it was coming directly from Dr. Paul.

I think Ron Paul has moved on. Above all parties, above the political process. It's all about education and waking up more people. Probably a good idea where we should focus our energy.

Did anyone really expect Ron to endorse Johnson? Johnson is not pro life.

Yeah, that's why he just held that huge rally to inform the GOP that we are their future. Come on, man. He has always said that if we want to change anything, we have to be engaged with the political process.

Don't sweat the tone of a mainstream article.

Ron Paul won't endorse Romney. It would undermine his entire decade long struggle, and he knows that.

why does it matter if someone is pro life or pro choice if that someone is for limited government.

Pro life + small gov = states make up the laws
Pro choice + small gov = states make up the laws

I have come to decide that you have to listen to what Ron says, not to what Benton says. Benton may be right that Ron will not endorse Johnson, but I can't see Ron endorsing Romney. I don't at all doubt that Benton would LIKE him to, though.

All last spring, Ron was consistent in his message.... and Benton was consistent in HIS... but they didn't match.

The bolded part would do Johnson in for me- I think Paul as well.

It isn't specifically about abortion, it is about principles, and finding them in your actual record, not just in your rhetoric once they have been made popular by someone else. Johnson has a great record as a fiscal conservative. I have seen nothing else to interest me there, and I am personally turned off by his 'cost benefit' approach to addressing issues, as if the questions of right and wrong do not exist.

but people vary in what they are looking for, and everyone is responsible for their own vote.

He'll endorse no one but this just further proves my assertion there's 0 chance he runs 3rd party.

He wants us to stay in the GOP and drive these people back...

One thing we know for sure, Benton won't be endorsing Johnson. ;)
