Ron Paul Unveils Economic Revitalization Plan

It would appear that I'm the only person still talking to you.

Much of what the plan calls for is going after the low-lying fruit. This is stuff that can be done immediately.

You must understand that there are prerequisites to abolishing the Income Tax. You can't just stroke a pen, and have it be gone.

You have to do it in tandem with the spending cuts, otherwise, you have just increased the level of deficit spending, and dropped another pile onto the national debt.

Likewise, you can bring the military home from overseas, but before you do, you have to have somewhere to garrison those troops. I seriously doubt we have enough housing and barracks capacity to absorb all of the overseas forces all at once.

You have to bring home the troops you can absorb immediately. Then you have employ those troops in the recommissioning of mothballed bases in order to accommodate the bringing home of additional troops. Meanwhile, if the intent is to utilize those forces to shore up security along our southern border, you'll have to build new facilities in the southwest so that the troops can be garrisoned there.

All of Paul's (and our) long term goals will have to be accomplished by a series of intermediate steps. Some will be quicker and easier to accomplish. Some will have to take longer as a means of minimizing disruption, and that it is important to minimize disruption because the perception of 'crisis' can undo all that we are working for.

Don't be so short-sighted. This plan does not represent the overall Strategy... You're looking at tactics, which are simply the short term goals associated with achieving the overall Strategic goals.

Could not have said it any better.

Could not have said it any better.

Thank you for a clear, concise and well written response. The stimulation pkg is brilliant in that the enemy will have a hard time attacking it and the people we need to reach such as the seniors will wake up suddenly. There is only one thing seniors seem to dwell on and that is money. Good job Dr. Paul!

Haven't read the entire plan but saw this in the 4points section in Press Release:

3. Monetary Policy Reform: Expand openness with the Federal Reserve and require the Fed to televise its meetings. Return value to our money.

I love this 'point' bc. it brings the networks onboard as an opportunity for them to get something out of it! And if they reject it then they are seen as being the true 'censors' of our democracy.

LOL oh my...

This will never happen. There would never be enough votes to amend the Constitution from the corrupt public servants still in office. Besides it would appear the 16th amendment was never really or legally ratified. The Federal Reserve will be wiped away and that alone will eliminate the IRS. Notice the IRS tax code can be amended to exempt the elderly......it can also be amended to exempt everyone.

Do not worry yourselves over this, it will be handled and much quicker than you might imagine.

One thing is for sure, anything unconstitutional is unconstitutional. Income tax on personal labor and a mans labor is unconstitutional. This will be very easy to rid ourselves of and quickly once Dr. Paul gets all the other underpinning supports in place.

The plan is amazing. It literally does everything to help the economy while staying in Dr. Paul's conservative economic stances. I think that this plan will resonate.

If I get an inflationary kickback from 'the conservative liberal' GWB, I will donate all of it to advancing Dr. Paul's cause.

Well what is interesting is that his "Plan" is merely a collection of bills he wrote, that he's been trying to introduce every year for decades!

First of all, I would like to state for the record that I did nothing to warrant being banned.

1) I did not insult or attack anyone.

2) I did not threaten or joke about violence.

3) I did not spam this thread. If you look and see people responded to me so I responded back to them. That is NOT spam.

However I was attacked by many other users..

1) I was called names.

2) I was insulted.

3) It was accused of being for another campaign.

In response to this unfair banning I took a measure I did not want to take. After digging and commenting on COUNTLESS stories about Ron Paul on DIGG I did did something I normally would consider UNTHINKABLE!

I BURIED APPROXIMATELY A HUNDRED RON PAUL STORIES ON DIGG

That's right, consider it BLOWBACK for my unfair and totally unjust banning when I did nothing wrong except share my opinion and respond PEACEFULLY to those who were attacking me, accusing me of being from another campaign, and insulting me!

I buried those stories so when I came back the person who banned me would recognize what happens when someone is banned unfairly (without any warning whatsoever) when OTHERS were breaking the rules by attacking him or her!

My hope is that by doing this the person who banned me will realize they are consequences (it can make people stop supporting Ron Paul) for unfairly banning someone. Maybe the next time whoever banned me will think before unfairly banning someone else.

I will now continue to support Ron Paul and all of his efforts *UNLESS* he continues on this path of sugarcoating his message to make it sound better to blood thirsty neo-cons.

The following is a letter I have posted around the internet.

I hope that action is taken.

Dear Ron Paul,

I've been supporting you online and off-line for many months. I consider you to be the most principled, honest, and consistent elected representative in all of congress and probably the entire federal government. You are bold when promoting the concepts of freedom, liberty, and constitutional government and refuse to back down from your positions even if some people be offended by them. I admire that you refuse to compromise when it comes to controversial issues such as the insane war on drugs and the treasonous push for world government. However, I'm disturbed by the "Comprehensive Economic Revitalization Plan" that was posted on your website today. My litmus test for a candidate is their willingness to stick to their positions without sugar coating them in order to gain political support. You may possibly have failed this test for the first time.

Your time is valuable so I will try to keep this as to the point as possible. I realize that your plan is a short-term stimulus package and does not represent your full platform. However, it seems to me that you have avoided a few controversial but vitally important issues that are critical to restoring both liberty to this nation and life to our economy.

1) Tax Reform - Reading down the list I see many taxes in bold print. You call for these taxes to be eliminated or repealed and I totally agree with this. What disturbs me is the INCOME TAX is no where to be found. If I look further I see that in small print you discuss proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States that would abolish the income tax. That is a very good idea. However, it is clear to me that the very FIRST item in the "Tax Reform" section should be an IMMEDIATE effort to dramatically reduce the income tax across the board for all citizens of all income brackets. It could take YEARS to successfully amend the constitution. Action must be taken NOW!

The income tax effects ALL AMERICANS including the rich, poor, old, and young. It is also the most abusive tax not only because it steals so much money from hard working citizens, but due to the hostile practices of the Internal Revenue Service. It should be the FIRST tax that is cut and eventually abolished all together. I propose you add the following to the Tax Reform section of your economic plan.

"Immediately reduce the income tax across the board for all income brackets and steadily push towards a zero income tax rate for all Americans."

2) Spending Reform - We need to do more than reduce our overseas military commitments. We must bring all of our troops home from Iraq, the Middle East, and around the world. This issue must NOT be watered down. It is NOT acceptable to sugar coat this message to make it more tolerable to the warhawks and neo-cons. I urge you to change this section immediately to something like the following.

"Bring our troops home from Iraq, Afghanistan, and around the world immediately. We cannot afford to be the global policeman and our global commitments are bankrupting our nation. We must restore our national defenses instead of starting pre-emptive wars and participating in nation building. By doing so we can save our economy, reduce taxation, and bring money back to the USA."

3) Monetary Policy Reform - The FED needs to be dismantled. I know that will not happen over night. However, I would like to see some statement mentioning how the value of the FED needs to be questioned. In addition to your other statements perhaps you could state something similar to the following.

"Hold congressional hearings on the constitutionality and value of the Federal Reserve system. No where in the constitution is the Federal Reserve authorized. This issue must be openly addressed. An organization this powerful and secretive must be examined closely."

In conclusion, I highly respect you and your record of supporting the constitution, small government, and peace. Please take appropriate measures to correct these issues. If we sugar coat the message of liberty then it is worth nothing. We must at least be able to say that we TRIED to present the TRUTH to people if they accepted it or not.

Sincerely,
A Supporter of Ron Paul
