In regards to the price of camp grounds in the Tampa area, I was informed by someone who lives near this area that the price of camping on the fairgrounds is normally about 48 dollars a night and consist of a parking spot. Camp grounds around Tampa usually charge 24 dollars a night for those who wish to choose that route.
And to the poster who thinks free beer should be included with the free festival, I couldn't agree more, even though I know you were only being sarcastic. Why not send in a couple trucks of beer each night, I'm sure those who can't make it to the festival wouldn't mind donating the money to help out such a worthy cause, and a worthy cause it would be because if you could advertise a free festival with free beer your going to have an extra 100,000 show up who probably have no idea who Ron Paul even is. But the supporters could fill them in and I'm sure most of them will be happy to become part of the support which stays for the 3 day convention and show their support there. The Ron Paul supporters cruising and clogging the streets during the convention can bring in supplies like drinks and food to those crowding the sidewalks so everyone is taken care of and not dropping like flies from the heat and such. We want the delegates being brought in by bus to see block after block after city block of nothing but Ron Paul supporters so they know who this country really wants as their Republican nominee. It gives our delegates inside the upper hand in trying to sway many of these other delegates. So getting an extra 100,000 people, for the price of a million dollar money bomb to be able to offer this free festival with free beer, is a good investment on the movements part if you ask me. More bang for the buck than anything Ron Paul's campaign has done. The value gained from the media publicity and the delegates seeing all these supporters would be worth every penny paid into this.
Charging money will defeat alot of this. I'm not an idiot when it comes to holding concerts, my cousin held many top name one night concerts over the years, I'd like to think I learned a little from him. Whether you know or not, there are large groups in the tens of thousands which travel this country from one free concert or festival to the next, if this Paul Fest were to be a free festival these groups would include this event as one of their stops. They won't pay and in most cases can't pay the 77.00 and many would probably end up camping out in their own cars if they came. They are used to taking care of themselves and getting by on very little. We need these groups, and yes we want these groups, the larger the numbers we have the larger a statement we will make to the media covering this convention.
We're going to need a truck load of Ron Paul signs for these people too. Free of course. So let's stop all this charging nonsense and let's start talking about a free festival and what it's going to cost to pull that off.
Am I to believe the people who displayed their cows and pigs at this fair ground paid 770,000 to rent this site to display their animals. I don't think so. So just what are the costs. With insurance and all that. Why can't there be an open discussion about this, after all we are the ones being asked to participate in this endeavor. Are the people holding this event doing so to help the cause of getting Ron Paul elected or is this just a money making thing to them. If it's to help Ron Paul get elected then they shouldn't have any problem answering these questions and discussing ideas which might help this event and help Ron Paul get elected.
