Ron Paul supporters now working on two pre-RNC festivals

In regards to the price of camp grounds in the Tampa area, I was informed by someone who lives near this area that the price of camping on the fairgrounds is normally about 48 dollars a night and consist of a parking spot. Camp grounds around Tampa usually charge 24 dollars a night for those who wish to choose that route.

And to the poster who thinks free beer should be included with the free festival, I couldn't agree more, even though I know you were only being sarcastic. Why not send in a couple trucks of beer each night, I'm sure those who can't make it to the festival wouldn't mind donating the money to help out such a worthy cause, and a worthy cause it would be because if you could advertise a free festival with free beer your going to have an extra 100,000 show up who probably have no idea who Ron Paul even is. But the supporters could fill them in and I'm sure most of them will be happy to become part of the support which stays for the 3 day convention and show their support there. The Ron Paul supporters cruising and clogging the streets during the convention can bring in supplies like drinks and food to those crowding the sidewalks so everyone is taken care of and not dropping like flies from the heat and such. We want the delegates being brought in by bus to see block after block after city block of nothing but Ron Paul supporters so they know who this country really wants as their Republican nominee. It gives our delegates inside the upper hand in trying to sway many of these other delegates. So getting an extra 100,000 people, for the price of a million dollar money bomb to be able to offer this free festival with free beer, is a good investment on the movements part if you ask me. More bang for the buck than anything Ron Paul's campaign has done. The value gained from the media publicity and the delegates seeing all these supporters would be worth every penny paid into this.

Charging money will defeat alot of this. I'm not an idiot when it comes to holding concerts, my cousin held many top name one night concerts over the years, I'd like to think I learned a little from him. Whether you know or not, there are large groups in the tens of thousands which travel this country from one free concert or festival to the next, if this Paul Fest were to be a free festival these groups would include this event as one of their stops. They won't pay and in most cases can't pay the 77.00 and many would probably end up camping out in their own cars if they came. They are used to taking care of themselves and getting by on very little. We need these groups, and yes we want these groups, the larger the numbers we have the larger a statement we will make to the media covering this convention.

We're going to need a truck load of Ron Paul signs for these people too. Free of course. So let's stop all this charging nonsense and let's start talking about a free festival and what it's going to cost to pull that off.

Am I to believe the people who displayed their cows and pigs at this fair ground paid 770,000 to rent this site to display their animals. I don't think so. So just what are the costs. With insurance and all that. Why can't there be an open discussion about this, after all we are the ones being asked to participate in this endeavor. Are the people holding this event doing so to help the cause of getting Ron Paul elected or is this just a money making thing to them. If it's to help Ron Paul get elected then they shouldn't have any problem answering these questions and discussing ideas which might help this event and help Ron Paul get elected.

None of us are going there to see 4H animals. And even if you do, it still isn't free to get in. If they can book Ron Paul, Peter Schiff, or Arron Lewis, it's probably with the $77 for a 3 day pass for me. The organizers of the event are real people with credibility, way more than your sock puppet account.

So far, they've done a lot of work without selling any tickets. I'd imagine they'll address questions of where the money is going, but I'd rather see the line up first and make my decision regarding that. I'd imagine they'll answer some questions, but it probably won't be your anonymous complaining that makes it happen.

So, your cousin puts on free festivals for people who don't have money? And they travel around the country for these free festivals? (with no money?) Who plays at these free festivals? Be more specific. What are they called and when are they? Maybe some of us who pay for festivals would be interested. It sounds interesting, but that's not what this event is.

As I understand it, this is supposed to be a gathering of Paul supporters, not an attempt to draw in a bunch of free roaming festival followers who run around the country sleeping in their cars.

I'm not convinced we need them. They sound like Obama voters to me.

Exactly, just what we need...Occupy Wall Street people occupying a Ron Paul rally.

Might as well have Ron Paul go talk in front of the Teacher's Union.

Yep.. They have no real direction, and would easily be used to portray us as a bunch of drugged out hippies looking for nothing more than legalized drugs. And that's the best case scenario.

So free roaming festival followers who run around the country sleeping in cars aren't worthy of being Ron Paul supporters. Is that what your saying. Who else are we excluding from our movement. Rand Paul want's to exclude all the anarchist. How is this movement suppose to grow if we continue to exclude people from joining it.

Money...meet mouth

I'd be glad to donate to the free festival, which is why I asked how much this whole thing is going to cost, because right now we don't have one. Instead we have two which want to charge $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I think he is saying that they're not actually interested in being Paul supporters. The "I'm only here for the beer!" syndrome doesn't generate voters.

Go start have your cousin organize one then. Because what we absolutely need is a third festival.

You saw exactly what I said. That wasn't it, sock puppet. Paul Festival was never meant to be a free festival for people who run around the country attending free festivals. It wasn't that to start with, isn't that now, and won't be that later.

That said, I'm a little interested. Tell me more about these free festivals your cousin runs. Maybe I'd go to some. Most everyone I know pays for festivals, like Coachella, Bonaroo, Austin, etc, etc. Let's hear more about the free festivals. Somone is finally interested in something you've said and you ignore it.

You can be the first one to donate to a chipin to fund people's tickets to Paul Fest who cannot afford it. I cannot wait to see your efforts in getting people there with free ticket in hand.

Do you need help with your website?

Someone really should contact both sides and ask them for their point of view..... also urge them to sit together and put their differences aside and work together. I know that there are bad feelings and that some got his feelings hurt but they are on the same side and they should work together.

Let me know what they told you and what will it take for them to unite again.

This event isn't about gathering votes, it's about gathering people, and 77 dollar tickets are going to greatly hinder that effort.

and 77 dollar tickets are going to greatly hinder that effort.

$77 for a three day music event is hardly anything. $26 for a full day's worth of activities in Florida? Unheard of.

And $48 for a night of camping right outside the location you are attending...well worth it.

You call me names and then expect me to answer your questions. Grow the F up first and then maybe I'll answer your questions.

I should rent out my extra room and my couches for those days :)

When they start hitting you up for $5 for a bottle of water or soda, while they exclude outside drinks, then maybe you'll remind me how great all these prices were. Because right now all I see are organizers with dollar signs in their eyes.

Agree mostly but I don't know about "real people with credibility". Especially the credibility part. Agree with the real people part.

It's basically a music festival right? It costs $77 right? If they get $77 worth of bands, people will show up. They have the advantage of being able to get some Ron Paul supporters who aren't going to pick apart the lineup. Good, big festivals cost more than $77.

If someone can park their RV on Friday in the Tampa Fairgrounds area and keep it there until the end - great. Good job. They also should be coordinating transportation from the fairgrounds to the convention.
