Orly Taitz mentioned this poll to me today at a candidate forum, so I took a look and found it on her website. This latest poll shows Orly leading the Republican field at 10% followed by Rick Williams and two other candidates tied at 6%. Their margin of sampling error is 4.5%– so it’s effectively a four way tie for the lead on the Republican side of the U.S. Senate race. Very close– let’s get the vote out, liberty-lovers. We can win! The Rick Williams campaign is right there!

Only if enough of us Californians stand up and vote how we feel and eventually send a message. There are more conservatives than you may think in California, especially the rural counties. Unfortunately, we have San Francisco and Hollywood which dominate the state.

An establishment conservative has no chance. A Liberty Conservative who can't be pigeon holded on social issues and can attack Feinstein on war, might just win.

I agree with Maximus.

Feinstein is at her lowest approval rating ever. with Ron Paul voter support I think the republicans could win a US senate seat in November. It's going to be interesting to see how the primary turns out though. you have I think ~5 republicans and ~5 democrats and then other party candidates all running against Feinstein on the same ballot because of the top-two system. from open secrets the highest any of these candidates has raised is 300k and 145k for two other republicans respectively. but that is hardly any advertising for a state like California. yet it might be enough to put them above the rest.

I don't think any other republicans would have a shot in the general except Rick Williams. If he does win the primary I would hope he would attract some money. probably not from the republican party but libertarians hopefully. the problem is I think the majority of RP voters do not know a libertarian is on the ballot at this point. so that's just the way it is. but he still has a slim chance at this point. I honestly think it will come down to the ordering of candidates on the ballot, their described profession, and sound of the name. you could expect the candidates with other party affiliations to get a share of the vote... hopefully people would just abstain from voting when they don't know much about the candidates but who knows... I've never looked at the data to how noncompetitive races turn out, when there is many people on the ballot. but the top-two system is pretty unique, although I think it was done in Louisiana to some effect.
