Ron Paul: I went

MITT GINGRICH can't even tie an effing FULL WINDSOR knot! I will NEVER vote for someone who thinks an half windsor knot counts as a tie!

RON PAUL has a respectable knot! NO ONE BUT PAUL!!

I thought Ron's best answer was to his newsletter and how he educated everyone there and watching that the racism that exists is within our judicial system and our drug laws. Did anyone else?

I was literally touch and it showed a totally different side to him that maybe others didn't know of.

Yes I was so happy that he was able to get that out. He's the only one that really cares.

It's just sad to know that Fox won't dare show that.

Hopefully people were watching that debate instead of football.

You are right, Fox wouldn't show that in a million years, we've got to spread it around ourselves. Get a photo screenshot of Paul when he was saying "I went" and turn it into a portrait image and put it everywhere on the internet.

It's all over the net... people talking about it everywhere. Lots of articles being posted about it too. It's gonna be hard for FOX to ignore this one.

Fox will ignore it just like they wouldn't show the entire ad of Newt Gingrich: Serial Hypocrisy.

the media will do everything they can to just show Newt say he wasn't eligible

And they'll ignore the real reason Ron is mad. It's not just that Gingrich got a deferment. First of all, he's said in the past that he supported the war and also that part of him felt he should have gone, implying that even if he wasn't eligible for the draft, he knew he could have gone if he wanted to. He could have served in a war he supported, but he didn't. More importantly, Ron is annoyed that Newt did not experience the feeling of being a soldier firsthand at all, and yet is absolutely clamoring for a new and completely unnecessary war, and to top it off, he's willing to exercise a power that is unconstitutional for the President to have in the first place in order to do it.

It's one thing to not fight. It's another thing to recklessly send other people to fight for no good reason when you have no understanding of what they will go through.

Paul connected with the veterans more than any of the other candidates have done in the entire primary season by mentioning the high suicide rate of soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

I agree. Ron had their support before, and after this he has it more than ever.

Well at least FN mentioned it:

" “I’m trying to stop the wars – at least I went when they called me up,” Paul said.

In response, Gingrich said he never asked for a deferment, but rather was married with a child and it “was never a question.”

“Dr. Paul has a long history of saying things that are inaccurate and false,” he said. “I personally resent the kind of comments and aspersions he routinely makes without accurate information and then just slurs people.”

Earning brief applause, Paul responded: “When I was drafted, I was married and had two kids, and I went.”

The exchange had little to do with the top issues in the campaign to date – such as the economy, the budget and Iran. But the personal nature of it was emblematic of a race that has taken on a sharper edge as candidates try to keep from being eliminated in the upcoming primary contests. "

I think this was a blow from which Gingrich cannot recover, as bad as Perry's error even if not as obvious.

Who wants to make CiC someone who wants to send others to war but has nothing but excuses as to his own non service?

Agree. Especially given Ron's response. He killed Gingrich tonight.

I think newt realized he just got slammed hard. Newt was visibly pissed during his answer. I will hand it to Newt in that he's a smooth politician and a great speaker. I don't care for his policies but he's always smooth. Ron's comment blew his composure apart.

Dudge just updated their link text as: "Ron Paul slays Newt..."

Awesome.

I believe Newt also was quoted as saying something along the lines of "I think it was the right war [Vietnam] at the right time."

Interesting, you effing chickenhawk.
