LOL, give him a break. Ron was obviously fired up. I know I get like this sometimes too. He wants to just yell and scream at these people.

Was it his best performance. Probably not. But it doesn't matter today. The fight continues my friend.

The guy has so many things on his mind and has so much knowledge crammed into his brain that it probably inhibits his ability to communicate more effectively. His mind is too busy basically, which is not uncommon for brilliant people like the good doctor. There's not a whole lot you can do about that, except maybe meditate or something, I don't know.

Also keep in mind he is often dealing with a satellite delay during these cable news appearances.

Stop worrying about Ron Paul not being perfect, and start worrying about why he's the only guy out there with the cred and the authority who is willing to stand up for liberty.

We don't need less Ron Paul, we need more people like him.

I'd let you slide if you were just nitpicking a particular appearance, but if you think he's somehow screwing up what essentially amounts to his side, you are quite wrong.

And on that subject I'm wondering when Paul is going to introduce this bill. Will he wait until the new Congress shows up? Will any of the new crew be anything like Paul? Is Rand backing him up? Maybe Paul realizes introducing this bill now might mean a floor vote by 2012.

But put your self in the mind set of a regular Joe for a second. Do you really think they will side with Ron, just because he says the government shouldn't do it since they were ineffective before and are suppose to protect our rights not provide perfect security? I'm telling you that this sort of reasoning in a short soundbite isn't winning any support. We will have to do a much better job at arguing our case and it saddens me that you don't see that.

He speaks sense but then starts a thought and shifts to something else, even to the point of throwing out words then not following up. We see it often in his interviews. I know why he does it...there's so much to say and so much wrong with this shit that its hard to know where to start and finish! It's also why the slicky politicians speak only in 10 second sound bites. Ron speaks from the mind and the heart instead of rehearsed scripts and it leads to cut off thoughts and incomplete sentences.

I really don't know. But what I do know is that human dignity is also important, and these pat downs and body scanners are doing a terrible job of preserving that.

The only true answer, as Dr. Paul said, is to stop giving people across the world so many reasons to want to blow up planes. I'm not worried about any of my neighbors blowing themselves up on the street or on a bus, maybe we need to figure out a way to make everyone in the world feel like neighbors. Bombing is probably the fastest way to make somebody not feel like your neighbor.

Here, this is how I would have liked Ron to make his points:

When asked the question: What sir happens if we take away these screenings and we have another 9/11?

He should have answered: I have to make 3 points to answer your question:
1. we are a democratic constitutional republic and not a democracy which means we agreed upon following the rule of law of the land which is the constitution which doesn't give us the authority to keep you safe but to respect and protect your inalienable rights so when you buy a ticket at the airport the government should protect your rights not force you to give them up.
2. Look at this extraordinary relatively cheap device (show a cell phone). How did it come about? It came from the free market and not the government, so the free market through services of private companies will always find a better solution for the needs people have such as security on a flight.
and 3. If we really want to increase the safety of our flights, we should look to our foreign policy and understand that it has a blow back when we invade and bomb sovereign nations and keep bases all around the world, so we should stop doing that and bring our troops home.

Ron Paul is who he is. He's not a young man and I doubt he is going to change his speaking or delivery.

If you want someone who hypnotizes with his good looks and eloquent rhetoric, then you will probably have to look elsewhere.

He is not the problem. It's hard enough finding people who agree with him, much more, gifted speakers.

Although Ron is a rather rough speaker, I don't see any convincing arguments from the DHS woman either.

The rambling/stuttering thing wasn't his only problem here. That seems to come and go and in many of his more important public appearances, like the presidential debates, he is very clear and to the point.

The reason I think he lost this debate was that he changed the subject to talking about the wars. This is relevant, but the subject was on TSA screenings and his opponent stayed on point. Ron went on a rant about the wars and for most people watching I think they would have seen Ron as talking over her and changing the subject.

Talking about the wars isn't even necessary when he can just explain that the TSA screenings aren't doing anything to protect us.
