Ron Paul campaign in Florida

Florida has 5th-highest median age. Retirement mecca. Winner-take-all. You'll spend fewer hours and dollars per delegate campaigning in other places. Furthermore, if it
becomes a Paul-Romney-Obama general election, Florida's a good place to walk away from to let Romney and Obama slug it out there. Pick up more probable delegates
spending money and time elsewhere.

Calm down guys, no need to do this between us.

Not a problem dude, I feel kind of foolish for rolling with it. Not realizing that he had changed it before I quoted.

please edit your quote. I took it down immediately. I am sick of getting antagonize by someone that has over 7000 posts since June '11.

Just ignore it, it's understandable to be pissed about Florida, I'd be pissed too if he did it to VA.

I think another thing that people are forgetting is florida is full of snowbirds.......people that may or may not be registered Florida voters=waste of time & resources

I'd love to ignore it, but with 44+ posts per day, and his hard on for using the campaigns strategy to bash Florida activist who think it's a bad move, little hard to turn a blind eye. I'll try harder.

Try really hard. Try so hard that you add me to your ignore list at the click of a button.

I agree. One thing I don't understand about the campaign is why RP is the only one speaking at these town halls. How much would it cost to have Jesse Benton or some local person speak on his behave to the meetup groups or at college campuses? The field could be a lot smaller after South Carolina.

Why doesn't the campaign produce a postcard sized flier that introduces/summaries his views that could be mailed out easily and affordably? They could then be distributed by the grassroots. He is going to face the same problem in TX, CA, NY and PA.

FL has known since day one there will be no money. That's why we came up with the super brochures and have an extensive grassroots. We will do better than the 4% we got in 2008. We are still fighting for the proportional delegates (nothing official yet). You guys can bad mouth FL and discourage us locally, but we will continue to push hard and go for the win.

Could always hit ignore user, that way you'll never see his posts again unless quoted. Easiest way to avoid being insulted and stuff. Need to find a superPAC that focuses only on Florida. I dunno how much money it would cost to run a few days of PAC attack ads. And if this happened, Ron could def say, well I wasn't in Florida, so I can't control what they say or do.

As it is, Gingrich and everyone will be going after Mittens. That is unless Gingrich, Santorum and Perry are all gone by then. That's the only way I see Ron Paul going for Florida is if Newt and Santorum or Santorum and Perry are gone.

If this is a winner take all state there is probably no point in committing resources to this. But, if it is proportional, I'd hope at least the superpac would do some media advertisements or mailers.

Funny because I am a florida voter and got a letter yesterday. Shh don't tell politico.

I'll trust the campaigns judgement, but its a little disappointing, especially with the "$6 million to win Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Florida, and Nevada."

I view the biggest media lie that hurts Ron Paul is the myth they've created that he is unelectable. I'm not sure that not even competing in a big state like Florida is going to help that perception going into those other states. The media will bombard them with his poor showing here. We'll just have to trust that the campaign knows best.

They're trying to ratchet down expectations in FL in case of a poor showing - not with a poor showing as the goal.
