Ron Paul campaign in Florida

Go Florida I think you can put a dent it in keep going don't be discouraged. I love Florida I wish I could get down there and work for Ron!!

[snip]
Florida is winner takes all when most (all?) of the other states before Super Tuesday are proportional.

If Gingrich keeps falling, Ron Paul might just get 2nd by default when he does well in New Hampshire. But to put in the extra effort to try to get 1st and all 50 delegates probably isn't really worth it.[/snip]

Yeah I'm with you screw it, trying to win 1,150 delegates, too much effort. ...

I agree with the strategy but wouldn't broadcast it. I might even go for some limited action just to not be seen as ignoring them.

Let Newt run out of money trying to win there.

I think it's better to get the word out there that you aren't contesting. Lowers expectations and makes it almost a non-story when you do poorly.

Actually (haven't read up the last few pages) we've had 2 reports of supervoters receiving a 6 page brochure in FL (one in tampa and one in miami) and a fellow from sarasota saw an ad. They may not be spending a lot of money here, but they are spending something. VERY refreshing to hear this today :D

Let's hope that the Santa Rita Super PAC, the Endorse Liberty Super PAC, or the Revolution Super PAC will pick up the slack and run TV and Radio Ad's in Florida.

I suggest that the RP Supporters and Meet-up Groups in the Sunshine State and ask for their help.

Again please post any projects/events that require Chip-In/Donation Support on a thread. I know many on the RP Forum will respond with financial assistance. We do not want our brethren in Florida to Stand Alone in this fight!!!!

The grassroots will put boots on the ground, make signs, put them up, wave them, canvass the registered Republicans. But its even worse than the first past the post and only 50 seats.

We have mail voting in Florida.

Voter Registration as of: 1/8/2012 in the whole state Republican: 4,065,740

Active Registered Voters as of 01/09/2012 in Pinellas County Republicans: 220,118

94,641 mail in votes went out to Republican voters in Pinellas county on the 3rd Jan (that's almost half). My wife returned hers (Ron Paul) of course, on the same day. If many others did, then its a problem as you can't change your vote.

Our time promoting RP could be wasted, if many mail in Republicans already voted. Just saying.

I'm in pinellas county also. We started canvassing in early dec (some before) and have been knocking out the larger districts moving down to the smaller ones with large teams. It's picked up drastically in the past month. We knew early voting would happen so we hit the ground running...

I'm not saying we are giving up in Florida...NEVER !!!

But the RP campaign has to be realistic where money is concerned.

We/Florida has a lot going against us.

But we are AMERICANS. We don't need permission. We don't need to be given money to survive. We are independent. We have team spirit and we are willing to fight until the end. FREEDOM !!! Or as our New Hampshire bretheren say...live free or die.

They may win the battle in Florida, but they will NOT win the war.

PS. Neverseen - are you going to the NH primary watch tomorrow at 7PM ?

Again if the Florida RP Grassroots needs any financial support please let us know.....we will help you all that we can....

You are not alone and we are standing with you!!!

Well it seems the grassroots will have to do the best they can, but some support from the Campaign should have been good.
few ads, few campaign stops in major locations.
