Ron Paul Billboards (48 feet by 14 feet) need mockups!

RPB_Missouri_Billboard_v03-01.png

This Mockup serves two purposes:

1. We can see what Ron Paul's beaming smile might look like on the "far side" of the Billboard.

2. We can see what the slogan: "I Googled Ron Paul" looks like.

The text and the photo can be crisped and massaged a bit to look a little better for this Mockup, but I'm just throwing them up here for now.

Can someone try one that has a military theme that says something like. HE HAS THE MOST SUPPORT FROM OUR TROOPS! HE'LL BRING THE MONEY HOME!

IMO, the economy is the #1, #2 and #3 issue for the non-committed voter.

I'd suggest a 3-line billboard saying:

"Shouldn't our President know more about the economy than you or me?"

"Ron Paul predicted the housing crash and the recession and voted against the bailout."

"Ron Paul 2012, register by <enter date> so you can vote."

I think these are good ideas. In Missouri this time our caucuses will be more important than the primary. The primary will be of no consequence. The caucuses held in March where we vote for delegates will be where it's at, because that is where the delegates to the conventions will be chosen, and they will not be bound to vote for the winner of the primary. They will be able to vote for anyone they choose. So getting Ron Paul people organized and to the caucuses on March 17th will be HUGE. That is why we need to have some sort of place that people who read the billboard go to and give their info., so they can get info about the caucuses in their county. It could be www.ronpaul2012... Maybe one that tells people to go to their caucuses. (The problem here is that people who haven't voted Republican before, may get thrown out. But probably just thrown out as delegates.... they might not be "found out" in the caucus, so they might be able to vote? not sure about this though

I think that the military donations message is strong. I was talking to my mom the other day (should be a convert by election day :D ) and she was a little shocked when I told her about Ron getting more military donations than all the other republicans put together. It is a message that can counter balance people's fears about non-interventionist foreign policy - and from what I hear around the water cooler, most republicans like his economic message, it is foreign policy where they get weak in the knees.

TROOP$ DONATION$ RON PAUL 2012

OK ...

There is a lot of support for a Billboard that brings attention to the fact that the members of our Military donate more money to Ron Paul's Presidential campaign than to the other candidates combined, (including Osabama).

Let us work together to develop a slogan, (I'm not saying that will be the only thing on this Billboard).

We all know at this point that there can be no more than 6 words, a MAX of 6 words on the Billboard ... because ... that's not MY rule, it is the rule of nature.

Human beings CANNOT process more data than 6 words when traveling at highway speeds, that's just the nature of it. So let us accept this in order to move forward quickly.

Let us begin now, slogan creation that meets the goals for this type of Billboard. Here are my initial suggestions. I cannot do a Mockup for this slogan unless this post is taken seriously ... I will proceed with my OWN ideas and criteria because I bow to the rules of nature as I am a part of that.

1. 6 word MAXIMUM, (for the slogan).
2. 3 words is the goal, 3 words works BEST, (more than 50 years of Billboard data and anecdote).
3. 4 words is really, really good. (2 on the top, 2 on the bottom, really, 2 ... 2-word slogans stacked)
4. Smaller, powerful words.
5. Go to google, type in your words one at at time and search for "synonyms" for your words. I do this all the time, it's FUN, let's have fun, yeah?

Examine your slogan:

1. Are most of the words verbs? Are they nouns? Is there ACTION? Is it thought provoking? Does it leave the viewer wanting more, to take action? Is there emotional context, does it provoke emotions? Sympathy, anger, shame ... etc ...

What tense are your words? Future tense ... Past tense ... PRESENT MOMENT?

how about..

MILITARY DONATIONS:

(bar graph)

RON PAUL WINS

5 words, one graphic, (image), if I'm reading this correctly.

=======================================
MILITARY
-----------
DONATION$

^ (Left Side of Billboard)

(BAR GRAPH)

^ (Middle of Billboard)

RON
----
PAUL
-----
WINS

^ (STACKED on right Side, far side, of BILLBOARD)

Technical Issues:

1. The labeling of the Graph. (Does it need to be labeled at all, is the graph bar for Ron Paul tall enough, or long enough, so that it is obvious which one is the RP bar?)

PROS:

1. Graph provides divider between the 2 (text stacks)
2. The graph could consist of only 2 bars, one for Ron Paul, one for everybody else.

yes, that's what I had in mind. I was thinking the opposite layout, words on top and bottom, but no real preference except what works best, so good idea.

The bar in the graph could be the same color as the words 'Ron Paul'

good idea

The bar in the graph could be the same color as the words 'Ron Paul'

TECHNICAL ISSUES:
--------------------

A. Background color of the Billboard.

B1. "RON PAUL WINS" (Text Stack - font color)

B2. "MILITARY DONATION$" (Text Stack - font color)

C. Bar Graph Colors (Bars could be tall, thin "$" characters, single "pillar" bisecting the "$", arrow-head atop Ron Paul's "$" pillar).

SOLUTIONS:
------------

[I.]

A. = BLACK

B1. and B2. = white

C. = (Ron Paul Bar - white), ("others bar" ?, light blue w/diagonal hash marks)

[II.]

A. = WHITE

B1. and B2. = ?

C. = ?

[III.]

A. = BLUE

B1. and B2. = ?

C. = ?

RESULTS:
---------

[I.] Best for daytime and especially night time, (red and black text and images don't work well at night)

[II.] Have to use dark colors for the "elements" of the Billboard, lose them at night.

[III.] A variation on Black, (will this help facilitate the "others bar in the graph")

I'd say 'MILITARY DONATIONS' in green or camouflage,
'RON PAUL' and his bar in the graph in white,
and opposing candidates bar in red/yellow with an explosion at the base.

ScHhhhhhhhWeeeeeeet ... I was just gathering some Camo for the Veterans for Ron Paul profile banner ... I like ... mucho like.

PIE CHART ! (I Like pie).

Ok ... CAMO is not effective unless it is very, very dark against a white background, then the lettering has to be black and it's a night-time fail, even with lighting. CAMO is specifically designed to make things difficult to visually process, as well, there will be trees growing around it and it will become more part of that visual landscape that it will be a part of the billboard.
