Ron Paul Billboards (48 feet by 14 feet) need mockups!

attachment.php

Even better than I thought ... somehow condense this into 3, or 4 at most, bars.

THOUGHTS ?

-------------
SOLUTION:

One bar for Romney + Cain + Perry + Bachmann
One bar for Other
One bar for Dr. Congressman Ron Paul

Please reply with your solutions for number of bars, and what the bars represent, need at least 3 bars ...

Also, work on the computation for "other", the percentage of "other".

I suggest using Q2+Q3, more accurate and apparently more favorable for Dr. Ron Paul.

All of this needs additional verification, this is the focus.

Q2 + Q3 + Q4 Military Donations

military-donations-2011-q31.jpg

Need a figure for "other" here, that gives U.S. 3 bars.

THOUGHTS ?

New Original: 1, 2

Military v2: 1
Military v3: 1

Deficit/Debt Test: 1, 2

Budget Test: 1, 2

Stars and Border: 1

I know a lot of the numbers/terminology is wrong, I'm just playing with ideas, not so worried about that right now. I tried making one with the bar graphs... but it didn't work very good. Maybe I'll give it another try. It's just hard to make one that's not loud and distracting. Military v2 and Deficit/Debt to me are pushing it on the distraction.

MILITARY DONATIONS - RON PAUL 71% 02

This is nearly a final Mockup.

RPB_Missouri_Billboard-v08-.jpg

We need to nail down which set of Military Donations figures we are going to use.
The disclaimer is at upper right, it is approximately 1 foot high text. You cannot read it in the Mockup.
It will be legible when I proceed forward with this design and make a 4800px wide by 1400pixel high scale design.
From there, the final editing of the graphic entails making a 1/10th scale model at approximately 30-50 DPI. I have a Quad-Core machine with lots of RAM.
I need the specs on the pysical printing machine that will be used to print this Billboard, that is super-critical. There is some math and some conversion to do so that the graphic that is finally rendered will upscale well to the machine that is used to print the Billboard pieces. I will probably need to contact a tech at the business that prints the Billboard. I can then render the final graphic based upon this design. Perhaps that tech can come into this thread.

ADDITIONAL DESIGN THOUGHTS (confirmatory, progressive) :

The colors from the pie chart should be used for the "Bar Colors". This gives crossover connection to the top ranking graphic in google for our keyword phrase targets. (The pie chart with Dr. Paul's military picture on it).

The bars need to be tweaked in length to conform to the percentage figures for Q3, (or we go with Q2).

The "71%" needs to be edited to reflect which set of figures, (percentages), we are going to use. 75% will look better than 71%. I might put Dr. Paul's percentage figure in GREEN ... (your thoughts if you Like).

This theme is going to make an awesome profile graphic for fb, for the 11-11-11 Money Bomb, for "team members". I intend on working in the Pie Chart to the fb profile graphic, so that the "Post sized" thumbnail and the "Comment" sized thumbnail on fb are filled with the Pie Chart, the one with Dr. Paul's military picture on it. The fb profile graphic is going to look great on Mouseover Popup for sure.

If necessary, I will make a new Pie Chart in EXCEL. If you know how to make pie charts in Excel, let's do that for this thread. Use the SAME colors as the original pie chart, I've posted it in this thread at its native size.

Let's get this done.

A la the style of Ron Paul's official campaign:

Grabbed the Q3 2011 numbers since they're the most recent.

(I'm still not convinced we shouldn't be doing a "Google Ron Paul" billboard instead. Don't know about Missouri, but around here if you ask the average person who Ron Paul is, they'll have no idea. As was pointed out in FBappDev's, fb album, getting people to research themselves is important. It's how most of us have come to know, and become supporters of, the Good Doctor.)

Google Ron Paul vs. MILITARY DONATIONS

Liberties"R"Us: EXCELLENT WORK ! I would love to see this in Mockup !

I agree completely. The I Googled RON PAUL Mockup posted to my fb page has received the most Likes and most positive and enthusiastic comments of all the Mockups so far.

The impetus behind creation of the "MILITARY DONATIONS" Mockups I've done is to enhance the focus on the 11-11-11 Veterans Day MoneyBomb. Although I think it is a very viable candidate for the Billboards.

Please tell me how to obtain the Background Eagle, you have in these images, I need that for a great deal of my work. I've been using a custom Clip-Art I created from the House of Representative Seal up to this point, I'd like that birdie :-)

A la the style of Ron Paul's official campaign:
donationsfrommilitaryQ3_RP2012.jpg

SUGGESTIONS:

Push the font size, the size of the words to maximum height and width, fill as much available space with the words as possible so as to maximize it's view-ability and legibility from a distance. As if the Billboard were SHOUTING these things.

Overall, use more of the space you have to fill it with the elements of the Billboard objects.

The font used for the MAIN TITLE of the Billboard and Ron Paul's name should remain minion, or minion pro, BOLD.

The names of the other's on the bottom 3 bars should be in some sans-serif font like Arena, so they are legible, but plain.

The dollar amount, or percentage on Ron Paul's chart bar can come off of the bar and be put underneath it at the top of the bar in BIG BOLD CHARCTERS.

Consider calculating the width of the bars, (height when viewed in horizontal), to reflect percentage ... i.e. , thicker for Ron Paul, thinner for the others.

Make the background "Seal Bird" larger, stars not crucial at the bottom, the shield on the bird's breast can serve as a stronger "Centerpoint element" if the bird is maximized.

Consider putting the slogan "DONATIONS FROM MILITARY" in steamer font, or STENCIL-A, (the rEVOLution font).

Of the research I have done on "Best Practices" for Billboard creation, studies have shown that the color red is not easily processed when viewed from a moving vehicle at highway speeds and at night it's visibility quotient is low. I would like to suggest white, or light greens for the bars, or some combination of those colors.

RON PAUL'S chart bar can be white with a hint of green. The other bars can have more green in them and have some transparency applied.

The dollar amounts, or percentage figures can then be done in black and visually they are then have a "cut out" effect at night, and have some of that effect in daylight.

Again, great work. Thanks for your participation and gathering of knowledge for this project that is clear in your presentation.

RON PAUL CARES - END OBAMACARE

NEW IDEA:

‎"RON PAUL CARES about ENDING OBAMACARE" (to)

"RON PAUL - END(S) OBAMACARE"

Wow that is good.

Would the picture of Ron in uniform fit on there somewhere?

While his picture in uniform would be nice, putting the picture on there would be an over-saturation of information.

We must be aware that our enthusiasm can dilute the good ideas that are produced in this thread.

Let us remember, the billboards are being designed for people who DO NOT know about Ron Paul, and for those who have not decided how to vote and for those who might be persuaded to change their minds.

Another design should be made with his Military picture.

Please remember, these constraints are not my ideas. The most famous, the most effective Billboards are thus because they followed the Best Practices of Billboard Design, an ongoing industry study on which many millions of dollars have been spent. We should take advantage of those Best Practices.

Q2 + Q3 (Percentages are better)

Q2 + Q3

This can serve as a quick and easy template to create the right sized graph on a Billboard Mockup.

The trouble with putting the dollar amount in is it isn't a very significant amount. The trouble with putting Romney and Perry individually is that you wonder about Cain and Bachman etc. If this is done, I think it needs to be done with these categories: Ron Paul, all other GOP, Obama. And maybe the text can be Support Our Troops: They Support Ron Paul

Good points

And maybe the text can be Support Our Troops: They Support Ron Paul

I like this idea, but it runs up the word count.

Support Our Troops
(bar graph)
They Support Paul

Would that be enough to get rid of the words 'Military Donations' ??

I don't recall seeing any dates for the billboard(s) (OP?), but if this is to coincide with the Veterans Day moneybomb why not keep with the style of supportthemnow.com? Percentages are from Q3. Here's quick and dirty.

There's still room for a call to action (for those frequent passerbys) where we could plug the site.

I think this direction could have great results, especially if in a garrison town (anyone know?), but I keep thinking about two things: 1.) "It's the economy, stupid." and 2.) Most people don't know who Ron Paul is.

Font says baseball, I like it, slogan pops really hard, very legible. (bigger 2012 tweak)

Don't be shy of working the edge of that glow around Ron Paul up under the rightmost edges of the L and T, can enlarge the picture of Ron Paul somewhat.
