What does George Bush Sr. have to do with John McCain? Maybe we need to heed Ron Paul's advice and treat everybody as an individual with their own ambitions, goals, thoughts, life, etc. Rather than lumping all presidents togather.
Again, all we have to go by is what John McCain has said. He feels that peace can be secured in Iraq soon, when the Iraqis rise up and take charge of their own security like the Germans did, and like the Koreans did. All we would do is have a presence there. That is exaclty what he meant by that 100 years in Iraq statement. Do you have any proof that he meant otherwise? I haven't seen it yet. Since there is no proof otherwise, all we have to go by is what he said. And what he said was not what some people are making it out to be. So, I stand my comment that the ad is misleading. I'm not suggesting that the DNC shouldn't have run it though.
Obviously McCain is naive. Either he is naive or he doesn't know what he is talking about. I'm inclined to think both. He confuses world leaders, Ron Paul showed the world that he would rely on other people to guide him about the economy and he doesn't even know what the President's Working Group on Financial Markets is, he obviously doesn't think we need to worry about paying for our foriegn policy anytime soon, and as a previous poster pointed out, he confuses the difference between Sunni and Shiites. You are helping me make my case when you point out that he doesn't see the importance of knowing much about Iraq's history, culture, people, in order to make a rational decision on what to do there. So, I'm very much inclined to believe he is naive.
