Rand Paul Responds to Ron: 'Chris Kyle Was a Hero'

It's Machiavellian bullshit. And I'm done with both Rand and Ron if this is a concerted effort. Done.

I have to agree...but I'll be sure to withold judgement, seeing as how wrong I was over the endorsement debacle.

At least I was wrong as far as Ron was concerned.

I honestly don't think this is any concerted effort.

I think the son is vastly different from the father.

Having met both, I stick to that.

Ron > Rand

Period.

I think that would be an unmitigated disaster. .

That's just it. Ron's political career is over. Rand's isn't. If the "radical fringe" is kept on board just enough to possibly vote for Rand in 2016 and maybe send him some campaign cash that in no way hurts Rand. Rand really needs to keep a sizeable chunk of his dad's coalition while pulling in folks who couldn't stand his dad on foreign policy to win. At least I think that's the belief. (And yes, I realize there are other ways Rand could put together a winning coalition.)

I own that. I swear I sent it as a plus rep. WTF?

It was brother, it was.

I thought it was an interesting take on this affair, so I wanted to post it.

PMs to me stay totally private unless agreed to release.

Rep comments I'll post, but usually will keep anynomous.

I think that is really reaching, but you are entitled to your own belief. That orchastrated pulling emotional strings stuff is just not Ron.

And if it's orchestrated without Ron's blessing do you think Ron would stand up and expose it? Because I don't. The whole "newsletter" fiasco was emotional string pulling done by someone affiliated with Ron.

No problem. I read the post wrong. Long day.....................

That's exactly what I expect from Ron Paul, and am happy to hear that what preceded this was written by someone other than REP. No gloating, no pandering (calling him a "hero")...just condolences and a subtle lesson.

I won't believe Ron is involved in that kind of Machiavellian manipulation until I hear it from his own lips. I saw enough incredibly bad moves in the campaign which SEEMED only to be for Rand not the candidate, that I couldn't swear no one might have such an insanely awful idea, thinking Ron's entire legacy is nothing next to some political campaign.

Where did you here that the tweet was not written by RP?

When did he say that the earlier tweet was written by someone else?

BOTH Paul's need to issue a statement, together, about this whole Machiavellian fiasco. Now.

Distancing himself from it had nothing to do with my comment. It was calling Kyle a "hero" that gets my ire up. Chris Kyle is no hero.

There's nothing wrong with praising members of the military. I don't believe that bashing the members of our military is a requirement for supporting a non interventionist foreign policy. Every person who chooses to serve our country is a hero. It's the politicians in Washington DC who choose to use them for the wrong reasons who are the bad guys.

They don't even know what some poster on RPF just thought up on their own accord.

Ron for sure doesn't. It is frustrating as hell, but the man is used to working through people.
