Strike Four.

I would find that disgusting. The answer isn't in the left right divide but in having people look beyond factions to the issues and solutions that work for this country.
Ron has ALWAYS done that.
I don't fit on either 'side,' I want answers, not circuses.
I can't say I necessarily disagree with Ron's comment. TOTALLY inappropriate though. He wasn't making some grand philosophical statement. It makes him sound like an asshole.
I'm going to assume Rand just made a general statement about a guy in the news who died, not 'in response to Ron'. If I thought otherwise, I'd consider it a poor move.
From the OP article: Paul’s son, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) has told Breitbart News exclusively, “Chris Kyle was a hero like all Americans who don the uniform to defend our country. Our prayers are with his family during this tragic time.
It sounds like Breitbart specifically contacted Rand for a statement on the tweet.
I seriously hope you are wrong. I agree about the direction I see Benton etc go, but I don't do pincer mode. Why would they want to turn people more against Rand with infighting intentionally?
I really doubt that idea. Ron has always said what he thinks, period.
Ron's comment, if it really was Ron, may have been inappropriate but Rand's is no less so. To call this warmongering psychopath a "hero" is beyond my understanding. As acptulsa said in one of the early posts of this thread, it would have been infinitely better to have added "...to some".
It's not about turning our people against Rand. It's about Rand reaching Palin's people. I'm 100% certain that Rand has said things since he first jumped into politics as a candidate that don't jive with what he believes (because they don't jive with what he previously said) for political gain. I do feel that Ron has sometimes held things back, and in this last campaign he started letting loose more. (He could have, for instance, given a better answer politically to the Osama Bin Laden raid and he could have taking his traditional approach to attacking the war on drugs without making drugs sound like a "freedom issue.") But let's assume Ron's just being Ron. That doesn't mean Rand might not be maneuvering. And if someone else tweeted this, especially someone from C4L, then I'm certain it's a pincer move. Hell, even Rand doesn't have to be in on it.
But did they just say 'what do you think of Chris Kyle' or did they say 'your father sent out this tweet, do you agree with it or what?'
Clearly Brietbart loves factionalization here, that is nothing new.
I dunno. Do you think neither Rand nor anyone on his staff follows Ron Paul's tweets and was aware of the controversy? I guess that's possible.
it's a very cunning plan.
I have no problem with the statement. I do have a problem that it may have been put out by someone in Rands camp working, or a plant, causing further discord at the exact time that a Rand/Paul split is needed and using it to paint Ron in a bad light.
but all that is in your head.
I don't think Ron would manipulate people like that. He is known for honesty, directness, and believing people are entitled to straight answers. That C4L might have decided on a pincer move, a horrible idea, is possible, I guess, but I can't see Ron as being in on it.
Full text of OP so you don't have to go to Breitbart:
Congratulations, Rand. You scored another one for the warmongers.
And YES, Liberty Eagle...I. DO. DARE.
Sure it's in my head. That's why I said "I think." And I'm not at all suggesting Ron's being dishonest. He might not have made the tweet. (I see the Facebook post from Confederate that casts doubt on that idea.) But for the sake of argument let's say he had and that he meant every word of it. Let's say he knew ahead of time how Rand would respond. That still doesn't involve a lie, at least not on Ron's part. In fact that doesn't even make what Rand said a like. I could see someone believing that Chris Kyle was a hero, and yet still believing that this was an example of "He who lives by the sword dies by the sword." Kyle certainly lived by the sword. And the same military machine that made him an efficient sniper allegedly gave his killer PTSD.
Interesting comment I received in a rep on RON's "tweet".
