Rand Paul can’t believe he’s losing to this guy: ‘This whole thing with Trump is insane’

Anything is possible. But if anybody thinks Trump is going to do anything to actually better this country or anything other than grow govt and empower the political and elite class then they are a dumbass.

He probably would. But, we absolutely know for sure that people like Bush and Rubio would.

Precisely! And playing with words like that is something out of the left's playbook.

Rand is a coward for his stance on Snowden, he should be calling him a hero

These two quotes encompass everything that was wrong with the strategy Rand employed. On the one hand, he made certain "compromises" in terms of libertarian principle that ate away at the base of support his father built and depressed the remainder's enthusiasm. But on the other hand, it wasn't like he gained any new followers among Conservatives to replace them, because he was busy doing all sorts of other things to alienate them too! Who is this campaign trying to appeal to? I seriously don't get it. For the life of me I can't think of any segment of the GOP base that would be receptive to this sort of pitch.

How do you envision that chainsaw working once Trump is in office, signing every conceivable piece of legislation and executive order that accrues more power to him?
I have a feeling Trump is going to use the military...Jade Helm will look like a wedding reception. Posse Comitatus anyone?

And wait till President Trump cracks down on hate groups...like YAL, 9/12 & Tea Party groups? "It will be great...we'll love it!"

You would not know either of those things by listening to him. You would not know them by looking at the issues on his website.

If Rand got out there and pounded the table in righteous outrage at the hundreds of billions consumed yearly by government benefits that go to illegal aliens, his support level would triple overnight.

It's not an academic debate. It's a contest for voters. He needs to act like it.

And that's not the only opportunity he's losing. He has all the creds to be the top guy against the half-billion that goes to Planned Parenthood every year. If he focused on those two issues exclusively for a month, he would be in the top three in the polls by the end of that month. This is red meat to the GOP base that will be voting in the primary.

Serious question. How many angry candidates have ever won the presidency? Obama, Bush, Clinton, and Reagan never came off as particularly angry to me. What would make this different?

Reason number 3759 why Trump will never win the general election.

Look at who is currently 1 and 2. They are who the voters perceive are not politicians; who they consider bought and paid for. Usually, those people are moved off to the side in short order, because they have no experience in government. That hasn't happened yet in this election. Time will tell if it does this time.

Now if we can just make them see that the guy who buys the politicians is the only person who's worse than the bought politicians.

Lol wut.

You saw the word "if." Right?

What is 'far better'? 30%?

You've been here since 2008 yet still don't realize that the vast majority of publicly released polling at this point in an election season is rigged propaganda meant to form opinion, not report it, as paid for by the poll buyer?

Let me refresh your memory.
