Rand at 4.4% in first post debate poll, ahead of Bush

Old people with landlines who are afraid of losing their medicare and social security.

But hey, President Trump will be one hell of a wacky ride... and we'll have 10's of thousands of new jobs, great jobs, with great people building a goddamn great wall to keep us all in .... ooops i mean illegals out.

But with Mexico paying for that wall who is gonna work below minimum wage to built it? Welfare probably pays more.

People who keep making the point that these polls are "old people using landlines" have forgotten the lesson of the past 8 years that those are the people most likely to show up to vote.

huckabee and santorum are still going to get 7-10% in Iowa
Bush will surge when Trump and Carson disappear
Cruz will continue to run interference on Rand and get 5% in Iowa
Fiorina will flop soon and get more face surgery
Rand will get 12-18% in Iowa

2016 Ticket Bush/Rubio
War in Iran by 2017
World ends in 2018

Thanks Ted Cruz

Honestly...

I find it hard to believe that this tired old chestnut is being brought out again.

The polls are brutally accurate, folks, and Rand's standing in them sucks.

Ah ok so there's no bias against the liberty candidate. Even if he were truly polling 30% (yeah i know that's not happening) it would be honestly reported as such when there's trillions on the line. Companies can't be bought, after all. While I dont deny old people are a huge chunk of the electorate, surely there's more people not in the "old people using landlines" than represented in polling. Also, there's no proof that these people aren't selectively chosen based off personal info which would show likelihood of favoring specific candidates. All the polls showed Ron low until right before the actual election in Iowa. So were the pollsters completely lying to us the entire time until they had to save some face and show a glimpse of reality or did everyone suddenly have a change of heart and switch to Ron?

I know this one is a national poll, but there's no way Rand is doing as bad in Iowa as the pollsters are saying. All the previous Ron supporters, Students for Rand initiative, as well as his many appearances..there has to be some manipulation going on behind the scenes.

Then again even if polls were genuine, it doesn't mean much. Delegates? Rules will be changed again, lights will be turned off again, random power outages. Is there anything in place to prevent these measures? I've been looking for something indicating there is and came up with nothing.

Out of the two newest favorites, Rubio is gaining but not much going on for Cruz.

It's an election, there's a whole lot of people fucking things around on behalf or against all the campaigns.

That's because Cruz isn't even remotely close to being a choice for them to be the president. He knows this. He's solely in the race to siphon votes from Rand. Nothing more - nothing less.

I don't think many are denying that there is some truth to polling. The main point I stress is that they're just snapshots in time. Polling today may have truth for today but it has little to no bearing on what will occur February 1st. Additionally, this far out they're still more indicative of name recognition, exposure and leaners (which are all important) than who will actually get the votes. Polls will become more accurate as we get closer to that date.

I'm also willing to wager that polling this cycle will be much more inaccurate than usual due to the strange circumstances in the electorate this year.

The polling that matters are the results that come out the week before the caucus/primaries.

Not to mention why bother putting out polls where more than 2/3 of the people aren't decided? There's no point other than an attempt to shape perception.

How did you arrive at that conclusion...?

I mean, I love a good conspiracy theory as much as the next guy, but only when backed by a little substance...

Well, in general election match ups, if I recall correctly there was only one person who polled worse than Trump...

Doesn't matter what people think of Rand because even though he was bland he isn't the worst story of today, Jeb is soaking up all of the negative press today which is great.

Unfortunately Ted and Marco are getting great press and Ted got a nice million dollar spike in fundraising because of his STYLISTIC performance.

Rand isn't a showman and we all knew that from the beginning, we all have to work extra hard and have yet to see the results. of his debt ceiling fight.

What is most interesting is Ted Cruz has said NOTHING about the debt ceiling today on his Facebook. The guy doesn't actually care but he keeps calling himself conservative. He is only a social conservative and nothing else.

He was just on the senate floor speaking out against it...

I've always wondered how people can trust polls. Who checks to make sure those doing the polling are being honest?

Yea he was, during prime time, like he always does.

Where was he when he should be rallying his supporters to call DC?

Being a Texan, I somehow got on Cruz's email list. He sent out an email telling people to call their congressmen. I'm all for bashing Cruz when its deserved, but let's not go overboard and pretend he's not doing anything
