President George W. Bush, on Tonight Show with Jay Leno Avoids Iraq War

Why??? Patriot Act, from which comes all the NSA spying, renditions, classifying Americans as people who could be secretly arrested and carted away with no due process of law, etc. Lied like a big dog on Iraq, put our country in massive debt, employed the meme that the only way you could "support the troops" was to send them away to unconstitutional wars to be killed, etc., etc., etc.

He was HORRID and quite frankly, his sorry rear end should be in prison for what he did, as should Obama's.
This shouldn't have to be said, but thank you for doing so.

Go away... you're worthless

So you can't answer the question? Interesting. So you'll compare Bush to Hitler for starting a preemptive war overseas, but yet you have no problem at all with a political party actually supporting a policy of legal murder that's resulted in over 50 million dead babies. You're absolutely shameful. Go away.

W seems like the type of guy that you can have a few drinks with, shoot some pool...

Obama just seems like an arrogant asshole.

Both sucked as presidents.

I agree. But apparently if you don't agree that Bush is equal to Hitler, you're some kind of neocon or something like that.

I would have rather had bush as a late night sidekick for 8 years...

"Believing in what you do". Bush may have started out with good intentions, or he may have been rotten to the core - that's debatable. What's indisputable is how he continued to fk up America during his entire presidency. When given the opportunity to stand up for liberty, he showed no spine and did the exact opposite.

Bush has done more to destroy individual liberty than any president since FDR. I consider him the WORST president ever.

Nothing Obama has done would be possible w/o Bush's policies and wars- not to mention PA I & II, TSA etc.

Bush was pretty awful, but I think Lincoln, Wilson, and FDR were worse.

I don't see anywhere where he said that he supported Bush. Do you not understand that you can like someone on a personal level and not agree with their policies?

Can I like Ted Bundy at a personal level and just not like the way he killed people?

Don't get me wrong, I get it. America has been brainwashed into thinking that your actions are somehow more acceptable when done in the oval office. Sometimes we fall into that. But its not OK. Don't fall into it.

Its one thing to be ignorant, but Bush was not.

I don't think comparing Bush to Hitler is fair, although I sometimes use the Hitler comparison when people say that Bush's actions were OK because he was President, or that those who followed his orders were justified because he was the President, or things like that. They're on the same scale (Immoral tyrants) but a very, very different degree.

As for the LP, I'm guessing that a lot of people in the LP don't agree with that stance. And even aside from that, frankly, I still believe the LP is more pro-life and pro-family than the GOP (Note that I get this isn't saying that much.) The Libertarian Party wouldn't ever draft people into wars and thus split up familes that way, or split up families by killing part of a family in a foreign country. The LP would never support FEDERAL FUNDING for abortion. The LP wouldn't take nearly as much money away from families through taxes, which would lead to more families being able to live off one income and thus stronger families (Eric Peters pointed this out today in a conversation I had with him.) Now, I'm not defending the LP stance here, just putting things in perspective.

Also, I'm not sure it led to the deaths of over 50 million babies. I'm guessing at least half of those would still have been killed if abortion was illegal. Again, its still heinous, but I'm just putting things in perspective.

I don't debate ignorance on this forum anymore... and though there's been coverage of this numerous times over years, some still don't get. When you pull your head out of your ass and truly understand history and the facts... then post. Until then, you just insult the forum and embarrass yourself.

Would you compare all of the people who voted for Bush to Ted Bundy? If Bush is a murderer, then isn't everyone who voted for him an accessory to murder?

My answer: no....too many people vote without really knowing what's going on (how many times do some of us say on this site that voters need to be educated? This is why.) I would have a hard time condemning the ignorant.

Go back and read the context. I shouldn't have to clarify this, only on this forum would I take heat for my comment.

With something this large scale, and with this many people involved, it gets kind of tricky.

First of all, in 2000, Bush was telling people he'd actually roll back on the foreign policy front, so they didn't vote for him knowing he'd commit murder (Well, maybe some did, but most didn't.)

Second of all, as Cajun says, a lot of people are ignorant.

And then there's "Lesser of evils" and all that jazz.

So, its complicated, and to some extent it depends on what you know. But I could never encourage someone to vote for someone like that. If someone came to me and felt guilty that they voted for Bush, I wouldn't try to make them feel better about it. I'd encourage them to do different next time.

Also, if I vote for Rand am I a thief? Since taxation is theft and Rand isn't trying to abolish ALL taxes? I don't think so.

I'm not a fan of Bush at all.. he's a big reason why I voted for Obama in 2008 before I educated myself on this Country's history, the Constitution and the importance of liberty in general.

With that said, I don't think he's as evil as people are making him out to be. I truly think he loved/loves this Country and respected the hell out of the Office in which he held. Does that excuse him for things like the TSA and Patriot Act? Nope.

He was also completely destroyed by the media day in and day out in the final 4 years of his Presidency which contributes a lot to why people think they hate him. You put his "scandals" up against Obama's and it's not even close.

I seriously laughed out loud at one poster's comment up above that said Obama had/has a better foreign policy than Bush did. I say that knowing full well about the Iraq war. Obama has been much... MUCH worse. Just my opinion though.

Uhhh..... no.

Obama is being hit by the MSM right now because he is hesitating on war with Iran and he escaped the full on battle with Syria. If Bush were in office we'd have been in Iran by now and into an even bigger war in the ME. Maybe even the WWIII that the neocons want so desperately.

The Patriot Acts were already written and waiting in the wings before 9/11; he is a gross POS.
