7th place sucks. :(

I agree. Bachmann was born there and Pawlenty is a neighbor. It's too bad that particular state is so important.

In other news, FITS news is quoting De Mint on saying HE is rethinking whether he should jump into the campaign....

and that would hit Ron worse, maybe not in Iowa, but generally.

Is all our work in Iowa for nothing? How did we go down?

Bachmann, Pawlenty being neighbors and gearing up their machines, and Cain being the flavor of the week.

However, our guys will show up at caucuses. Bachmann's will and Cain's may (my jury is still out on whether the guy is astroturf). Pawlenty..... meh.

Not a good poll, though.

Makes the moneybomb even more important.

Without Palin, we got 11% which still is not bad, but not good either. We have lots of work to do this summer. Once again we are going to need to win Ames to really get us some momentum but we should not let one poll get us down.

RP's favorability rating dropped 25 points from April 17 to May 27. The only significant event that occurred during that time span was the May 5 debate.

I really hope RP doesn't let interviewers paint him as a pro-drugs and prostitution guy anymore.
This poll is really depressing, though.

There are many ways to answer a question truthfully and sometimes I wish he would take Rand's more diplomatic approach on certain questions.

From What I have read everyone, it was the Bin Laden gaffe he made in that Iowa interview that hurt him. Apparently Iowa evangelicals are super duper sensitive, and didn't like Ron saying he wouldn't have gone in without notifying Pakistan first.

Seems like the debate, maybe?

Herman Cain "won" according to Fox News. Voters send his poll numbers up.
Ron Paul spoke favorably of heroin legalization, poll numbers predictably go opposite direction.

And that bin Laden comment.

The unprovoked gaffes need to stop.

Oh yea, I forgot about that. I wonder if those reactions to RP's comments were emotional or if they truly believe that we should be able to conduct secret military raids wherever, whenever we want without regards to the country's sovereignty.

That too.
It's probably the first time I've ever been frustrated with Ron Paul.

There are times when comments about something are simply not necessary. I know people love Ron for his honesty, but you don't have to criticize the thing that is 99% supported by American people to be intellectually honest.

I think people would've at least viewed him better if his argument wasn't fixated on "respecting Pakistani sovereignty" but rather on the constitutionality of authorizing assassination as opposed to due process.

Drugs, prostitution, and the bin Laden raid comments are all hurting RP right now. He really needs to quit these issues immediately. You simply don't need to address this stuff. We need to win an election.

The way I view this poll is that in April, we were 21 points behind first place. Now, we're only 13 points behind. Who doesn't believe that RP with our help can't overcome 13 points?
