PPP Poll (1/1/12): Paul 20%, Romney 19%, Santorum 18%

Not surprising crosstab. Look at the high percentage of people who decided on Santorum during the MSM Santorum lovefest.

A lot of women are sexually attracted to Romney, that's what is really going on, they just won't admit it because they think it makes them sound superficial.

A lot of women were probably sexually attracted to Hitler, too.

It wasn't a good reason to vote for him though :)

Not that I'm comparing Hitler to Romney... just pointing out the silliness of voting for someone with so-called "good looks".

Second choice candidates:

Paul supporters: Perry 19/Santorum 13/Romney 11
Bachmann supporters: Santorum 24/Perry 17/Gingrich 13
Santorum supporters: Bachmann 33/Perry 22/Romney 15

I think many supporters left Bachmann for Santorum as Bachmann's campaign imploded.
I think some supporters left Paul because of the newsletter issue. (If not because of the issue directly, then because of the avalanche of negative reporting on the issue.)
I think some general "I want to vote for a winner" voters joined the Santorum bandwagon just because of the few "GOP only" polls showing him "surging".

The combination of the three, plus the fact that there's now not enough time for the MSM to properly vet him (if they stopped asking electability questions over and over again they might actually find time to dig up issues on all the candidates ahead of time), means it'll be an interesting fight on Tuesday.

Just because it is silly - to vote by sex appeal - does not mean that it is not true and not damaging to what is left to this union of republics.

I don't think they purposely support him because they think he's good looking. It's a subconscious thing.

The GOTV will be everything....No doubt now Santorum is surging in the last 7 days....both DMR and PPP agree on that!!!

But remember there are three tickets out of Iowa. Ron Paul should have one of those punched Tuesday night.

This is going to be a long campaign, Ron is not running for Congress again and the name of the game is not votes but delegates.

Remember under Rule 15 virtually all of the early States are being penalized 50% of their delegates for moving their date up before 1 April.

If women are not capable of making intelligent decisions, I guess we can take back their right to vote or participate in the workplace.

Apart from the obvious liberty problem with this... you'd also need to show that men don't vote based on "good looks" :)

Bottom line... good looking people are known to have a "halo" effect. Look it up.

I'm a straight guy. I think Bachmann is more attractive to me then any of the men. I still don't want to vote for her.

I only pointed this out before because I've noticed women's decision making skills in the workplace is not to the level of men.

I hate to say it, but with numbers these tight, anyone wanna send Palin a message on FB and ask for an endorsement? I know I sound desperate, but I'd take W's endorsement if I thought it would help.. Man it's gonna be close.

Age Crosstabs comparing the last poll to tonight's poll:

So in 4 days Bachman in the 30-45 range fell from %15 to %$6 while Santorum jumped from %9 to %20. He took everything away from her in the field. Romney fell %7 in the over 65 vote, which most likely all went to Santorum.

The only other significant drop for Ron was the 18-29 which was also %7 but nobody really gained huge amounts there. (btw, Ron losing %7 in the 18-29 range scares the shit out of me considering how much access that group has to technology)

Everywhere else has the normal movements in range of between %1 and %4.

Women are more socialist leaning than men, it's a worldwide trend. I don't think Romney's looks have a whole lot to do with it.
