We have this thread going in the main room too, but since most people are in here right now...

Please help with this thread so we can teach the campaign how to win the next state.

So far, the commercials for Ron Paul have been pathetic. We all agree. They don't seem to know their own candidate. They are pushing him into a box they think the people want to hear and he is not doing well in that box and they are losing the supporters who would love him. I promise you if that Iowa infomercial was the first thing I ever saw about Ron Paul, I never would have spent one minute on him.

Since the campaign doesn't seem to know what Ron Paul's strengths are, I thought we should tell them. If you saw that insane infomercial they put out in Iowa, you would know they seem to think that pandering to Huckabee's crowd will bring them votes: it won't it will only strengthen Huckabee. (Huck's crowd are big on abortion and religion and that is what the infomercial started with).

We cannot win unless we push the Ron Paul that WE all fell in love with. So, I thought I would start this thread for two reasons: to remind us all why we are working so hard for this man, and to let the campaign know what is so special about Ron Paul so they will know how to market him.

Please finish this sentence: I became a Ron Paul supporter because....

For me, it was :
1. His stance on the war.
2. His knowledge of economics and how well he would do for the economy.

If we can keep this thread going, I would like to sum it all up and send it to the campaign, along with the entire thread. It might help them to know what brings people to Ron Paul. If so, perhaps they can play that up for the coming elections.

Please respond. The more responses we get, the better chance we have of teaching them what sells Ron Paul.

Hey, need some answers here. We need to guide the campaign. Please answer the question:

I support Ron Paul because...

I support Ron Paul because he is the real deal. He is not just speaking for his party, he is speaking for AMERICA.

So far we (the grassroots) have shown that we can raise money, and sway media, but its time to take that to the next level. It's time for us to show that we can truly run a campaign from the bottom up. Get out there and spread the message of the Revolution! Tell people the truth! Tell people why he can, should, and will win!

I support Ron Paul because he is the only President who I will live in peace under.

Ok, let's try to make this specific to issues. Anti-war, his stance on economics, he is trustworthy (a consistent voting record), civil liberties, no IRS, etc.

I support Ron Paul because he is a consistent man with consistent principles. He is a true Patriot who loves his country. He is exactly what America wants and needs. If more people hear his message of liberty, they will fall in love with the Doctor and vote to bring change in government which we Americans need desperately.

He's Honest

As much as Democrats liek to wave the populist flag. Ron paul is the only candidate that can show he isn't bought and paid for by big business. He is not part of the washington machine.

Unlike a governor who claims that title by reference of geography, but folds in quite nicely once they arrive. Ron Paul has worked in washington for 10+ years and has remained steadfast to his principles.

Politics as usual just doesn't work anymore.

Thank you Gustogus and welcome to the board!

We are finishing this sentence: I support Ron Paul because ...(and please stick to specific stances and not just generalities so we have something concrete to tell the campaign)

The Jeremiah Black ads and your ideas on the war and economy were the same as mine! Why does the campaign keep targeting old republican grumps from the '20s?! The young people want him more!

I support Ron Paul because he is supports the Constitution. He firmly believes in what he says and what he legislates. His stance on ending the undeclared war, returning us to sound economic and foreign policies, and restoring States' rights strike a chord with me.

He is the only candidate that can assure my children will have a true America to inherit.

And he hasn't lied to me!

1. hes honest
2. he understands the economy
3. he wants to end the slaughter on foreign soil

I like ron paul because I trust that he is not a puppet of the power elite, and because I think that he is right with his foreign policy, and about drastically cutting spending.

I also have no faith in the official campaign to communicate this message in a modern world. He had better get some professionals fast or this whole revolution will never reach its potential!

Civil liberties, honest, trustworthy, civil liberties, freedom, National Sovereignty, consistent voter, no dirty lobbyist money, foreign policy, economic policy, secure borders, civil liberties, Constitution, freedom, individual sovereignty, and civil liberties. In that order. And oh, did I mention civil liberties?? :D

I support Ron Paul because of his sincere belief in the freedoms we were given as Americans with the Constitution. He fights for what is right, and my biggest draw to Ron Paul is his common sense approach. As radical as some of his ideas may sound to begin with, after hearing them out, you begin to realize that they are the simplest straight forward solutions that should be the norm.

Also, I support Ron Paul because of the points I put into my commercials:

Go Ron Go!
:D

To add to this...

I would like to see the campaign focus more on "Moving in the Right Direction" then "Abolishign Stuff"

I'd love to see Dr. Paul go on his interviews and start trumpeting his pragmatic politics as much as his ideology.

Face it, we all know he won't abolish the IRS in his first year, or his 4th, but he can start moving the country in that direction. He can start paying down Debt and moving away from socialized programs that present the budget with its greatest obstacles.

Dr. Paul is my vote to set the wheels in motion, not drive me to the final destination.

Focus on the message of transferring power locally, out of the hands of the Washington Elites. Focus on the empowering message of State Sovereignty. Hold up Californias recent troubles with limiting their own emissions as elitist power grab that it is.

I've seen him do this here and there, but he needs to point out, "This is the goal, as it stands it may not work if we tried to implement it all tommorow, but its a direction we need to start movign towards if we're going to survive as a nation"

just my 2c.

5 TV Commercials

1) End the IRS and how we will still pay for Gov't "stuff"
2) Economy: Why the US is screwed.
3) Foreign Policy: Why they hate us and wanna bomb us.
4) Welfare State: What is breaking the bank
5) Liberty: What it truly means to be free and WHY YOU MUST VOTE. TURNOUT!

All of these need to be 1 minute.

It's like a crash course that a 4 year old can understand.

Run these spots all over the Country and you will see the response we get.

when you mention abolishing the department of education... you need to be clear about how public schools STILL exist... and that the answer to primary education is not just dumping more and more money

getting rid of the patriot act, civil liberties, less government intervention in our lives
